Ok fess up, which knucklehead left this comment on the blog This is a big week for the QB's. Im dying to know who will start this Saturday's game.
I want Henne to win the job. I don't think Beck has the head to play the game (a la Ryan Leaf). Henne won't play in front of as many people in Miami as he did in Michigan, and from what I read, he's connecting with Ginn on a more regular basis. That could end up being a Manning to Harrison type relationship, and I would love to see it blossom.
And Super Bowl XLV comes down to this. Miami needs to advance the chains one more time to get within Feely's range. Look for a quick out, or something near the sidelines. Beck takes the snap. Quick fake to the flat. Now he floats a beautiful pass towards the Dolphins sideline. Derek Hagan makes his cut. The pass is right on target. OH!!!!! And it's picked off!!!! Apparently Derek Hagan is not a drum. Oh well, better luck next time.
Yeah all three seem to be completing passes and even getting into the end zone. Day off might have been just what they needed. On the other hand, I don't get to depressed when the do bad in these blogs, so I won't get too optimistic when the play solid. Just got to give it time and let this thing play out. Game 1 coming up then we will get a better view, for ourselves, to determine how things are going.
Geez.... Every time they do an accuracy drill Beck blows the other QB's away. If he could just get his head straight and carry that accuracy into a heated play we'd have quite a player. Whether he will or not is yet to be seen.
You think maybe Sparano's comments about "Practice Players" and "Game Players" apply to Beck? I was one of the many that said Beck would suffer mentally from the disaster that was last season. I still hope I am dead wrong and that he gets his feet under him in time for the start of the season.
The light slowly started coming on against Cincinnati. I think he just needs time, like all other QBs. Just because he's 26 doesn't change that this is his second year in the NFL.
From What I've read, the passing game seems to be improving and progressing from last week. Just keep it up.
This really shouldn't be a surprising thing either as the offense usually does start slower than the defense in any camp and the passing game is the aspect of the offense that takes the longest to reach an efficient level. Let's just give this time to see how things develop. The first couple preseason games will give us a much better view of how things are progressing.
And the key to that is having continuity and not having to rotate QBs. Hopefully we stick with the same guy the whole year so they can develop that comfort zone. It may take until week 6 or so for the passing game to be smooth and efficient. The running game will get us by until that happens. I think that really is the key to this year.
Maybe I should read it again, I didnt see that the first time. I know he said a pass or two where dropped.
Now I see what your saying about the 2 dropped td passes. I dont really know what I was looking for. I guess I just wanted more coverage on the 7 on 7 or 11 on 11.
Definitely. Lets hope it was more because the staff made it very hard for them, not because they can't play.
Touchdowns mentioned in the blog.. caught and uncaught, the same. one plural.. two -three? four-five six seven-eight nine- ten(shotgun handoff)- eleven twelve... sooo, tell me fella's.. are we worrying about the right stuff here.. that's a LOT of touchdowns scored on our defense... by a weak offense... just askin'
Not really, coaching staff is known to make things difficult for the QBs and offense alike, maybe today they are calling the wrong defensive plays to a) see how they react b) give the offense some confidence, or c) test the mike and secondary leaders to see if audibles are being called. There is one week left until game time, so I think they are trying to focus on installing real time adjustments. Just my opinion. It appears they are doing a lot of red zone stuff too, so that will inflate the number of TDs.
I love the way the coaches are letting the two young first round draft picks {long, merling} battle each other all camp
I know, and 24 of them from Ginn.. six punt return, six kickoff return, six go route, six quick slant
