I knew that your defense of Ireland was bordering on pathological, but now obvious statements of fact such as "More talent probably would have given us more wins" is now up for debate. Wonderful. Give me a break. You don't have to defend EVERYTHING. and Yes, I have a very high opinion of myself, and I think that your opinion is ****.
In the aspect that the team HAD to get the coaching staff and QB right. Nothing sets back a franchise like a bad coaching staff, then a bad QB. We could sign all punters next offseason and it would do significantly less damage than a bad coach and qb.
Agreed the draft that nets us a starting QB and a good one for the next decade plus goes down as the MOST important one in a long long time..... everything else will fall in line after that...
For the third (or maybe it's the fourth) time, I'll repeat that it is too early to call Mallett a bust or say he will never be good. It is not to early, however, to say he has not been good so far. If Ireland had taken Mallett in the 3rd round (or 1st as some around here were arguing for) and he was unable to crack a 50% completion percentage or 5 ypa in two preseasons, would anyone be saying he was a good pick at this point?
