Let's imagine....

Clemens was 3-5 last year as a starter behind one of the worst lines in the NFL, no Laveranues Coles and since the line was so bad, no running game. There is still plenty of hope with him, by the logical fans. Nobody should be expected to carry a team with a bad OLine and injury problems to a 7-1 or 8-0 record in his first 8 games. Thats like saying Beck is nothing because he didn't explode onto the scene.

Anyway, yes he shows excitement, but can he catch the ball on a consistent basis? Will he run the routes almost exactly (since nobody runs them exactly) as to what is needed? Will he make the tough catch over the middle? Will he be reliable in the 4th quarter and in big situations? Those questions still need to be answered. He showed some flashes late in the season, but he still has to produce for a full season.

2008 is a big year for him. If he has 50 catch season, people will be calling for his head.
