Couldn't help but notice a couple things in that draft besides leaf. Kevin Dyson was drafted ahead of Randy Moss. Wow. They should do an article on that blunder as well.

Moss slipped in the draft due to concerns about his attitude and if I remember correctly, drug use. Everyone knew that he was a top 5 talent in that draft, but the risks/down side were too great. Hindsight is always 20/20, but when you are going to be paying all of that money to an unproven talent, you want to make damn sure that you aren't picking a guy that will become a distraction. For all of his talent, Moss is still a major PITA.

You are correct and I agree with you. I believe he lost his scholarship from FSU because of marijuana charges and then bounced to another school, finally ending up at Marshall.

While I agree with everything you say, hindsight is also 20/20 with the Peyton vs. Ryan discussion of 10 years ago and they're still talking about that. Dyson over Moss is as big a mistake, in hindsight, IMO.

    Yes and no

While it's true that we can now look back and compare who had the better career and the most talent, the signs were all there before the draft pointing to the fact that Leaf was really immature, something that proved to be his downfall.

I don't think Moss falling was a mistake. Look at what he did on the Raider's. Absolutely nothing worth mentioning.

Thanks for reminding me we took John Avery in that draft :pity:
To think we couldve taken Flozell Adams and Surtain in the 1st two rounds.

Are you kidding? It's all about what he's done lately. Is breaking the NFL record for receiving TDs in his most recent NFL season worth mentioning?
