Thank you Philbin and Ireland for getting us players that actually want to win and play hard every week. This is MUCH better than last year!
Winning while learning and evolving two new schemes, developing a rookie Qb on the fly, usually teams that are learning as much as we are suck the first half and do better the 2nd..
Changing leaders when a group is failing was the right thing to do. It's a good American lesson. Philbin is the man! And Tannehill is something to be excited about! Nothing scares me when I look at the rest of the schedule. This is the start of many good times!
Its funny but last year at this time I wanted us to Suck for Luck, and im sure he will be good in this league, but im glad we Mediocred for Tanny
I never understood wanting to suck for luck. I understand wanting Luck to be a QB of your favorite team but I don't understand ever wanting your favorite team to suck during a season. I've always wanted the Super Bowl every year. I am only ever happy that we had a bad year after we've already had a bad year and its time to think about the draft.
That may be reaching a tad high, but it certainly isn't as far-fetched as it sounded in August. I still have concerns about a our pass D. Good offensive teams will exploit us there. But other than that, we're looking pretty solid. We may reach 8-10 wins.
I dont know about that...LOL. Last time I looked, we had the Patriots (twice), the 49ers, and the Seahawks on the old dance card, teams that should scare you. I'm not being a doubter, because whatever we finish this year, the future is looking very bright for once in very long time. But we don't have the weapons to compete with three of those teams at the moment, and IMHO, Seattle has the scariest pash rush in the NFL.
The strike killed us last year. New offense to implement, and part of team was badly out of shape. But this year, proves something in my mind at least. Sparano and his coaching staff didn't know how to develop players...
Looking at the rest of the schedule, if I had to bet what our final record would be, I'd say 7-9 at worst, 9-7 at best. FinD guaranteed we'd be 8-8 at least this season. Maybe he is a smart feller after all.
Funny thing is, I've seen plenty of games like today's out of Henne when he was here. Not swiping at Tannehill, more saying he is playing as well now as Henne did in 2010, but the rest of the team is playing much much better. That was the yr the special teams were just terrible.
Yet we still got a few guys whining like we are 0-6. Not surprising that they were the guys proclaiming we were a 3-13/4-12 team. So they are more angsty about being wrong.
