Anyone see this guy play last night. He was all over the place. Only name I heard called for OSU all night long. Not sure what round he's projected in but could be a nice pick. Does he fit the "Parcells" mold tho. He's 6'2 226 pounds. Maybe someone to take a look at in the later rounds.

He was amazing in that game. I would not mind at all if we could draft him.

There was a piece at the start of the game with Grant and three senior fullbacks talking about how this was their last ever game of football on any level.

I was mildly surprised to see Grant in that mix. I wonder if his major is something like medicine and he's set on becoming a doctor or a vet or something that he feels he can't put off. Thinking about it though, I'm pretty sure he was a JUCO.

    Hmmm.

Yeah he played for the National Championship 4 years in a row (2 JUCO, 2 D-1). Ended up 0-4. Ouch.

I thought it was interesting that they mentioned how a OSU LB has stepped up two years in a row now in the NC game. They mentioned Gholston stepping up last year, don't remember that at all, but Grant did look solid last night.

What did Gholston do last year? :confused2:
FWIW, Laurenitis still hasn't looked like a top 10 pick to me. He's good, but not great. I'd much rather wait a few rounds and take Lehman (unless I were running a tampa2)

Well, not too many are going to remember a good performance by someone on a D that gave up 41 points. :(

Thats exactly what I was thinking and why the comment stood out to me. He's gotta be one of the most overrated prospects out there IMO. He's a solid player but nowhere near Top 10.

How can you say JL isnt worthy of a top 10 pick? The guy was in on every tackle.

I was disappointed with Malcom Jenkins 2 years on the big stage blown coverages.

He was in on them down field like I'd expect a safety to be.
He was very hesitant on his reads, and didn't attack the line of scrimmage. His hesitations had him getting engaged by the OL way too far off the ball. This created big running lanes.

On plays bouncing outside, he far too often pursued parallel or running away from the LoS. This was due to slow play diagnosis or trying to run away from blockers. LBs are supposed to "scrape" the LoS.

These are important flaws in a LB.

That said, he's not terrible, or even bad. He has good speed, and seems to be a very good tackler, and strong too. He's still a good LB, but if my team spent a top 10 pick on him, I'd blow my top. Now, I'm certainly tougher on LB's than you usually see, but a LB in the top 10 better play the run on very steep downhill grade IMO.

18 tackles for JL in the title game. If he declares I expect The Pats or Bengals to select him.

He's a good LB. I'm curious to see where he comes in at the combine weight-wise. But, if you get caught up with tackle numbers, especially when talking about LB's, you need to put them in context. Without context 18 tackles can look like Dick Butkus.
