J Allen did have a decent season but I want to see him take a bigger role by beating out someone else not have it handed to him. J Allen does have the tools but again, take the role. Same thing with Clemons.
Nate Jones is a Free Agent, sign him and just let them compete? after E Green flammed out last season?
Will Allen as a FS wouldn't be the worst suggestion. He has great speed, physicality, and is a smart player. He's no ballhawk but he'd be a safe bet in the Eugene Wilson mold for the Patsies with Gibril Wilson underneath helping in the box. He's also nice to have since he has man coverage skills as well in case you want to keep your formation, not replace a LB with a nickel. I'd like to see him add a few pounds to maybe 205 and we'd be set with him.
If there's no cap, why not? Nate jones isnt getting a huge contract from anyone (or at least shouldnt). You could also bring in a pick and let JA compete with him for the nickel spot.
Break down the top 12 in the draft right now and you have: Suh Clausen McCoy Bradford Okung Berry Williams Campbell McClain Morgan Bryant Haden Right now and most likely even in April: - Suh, Bradford, Clausen, McCoy, Berry, and Okung will go quickly. The worst-case scenario has Miami looking at perhaps Williams and Campbell. I don't think they'll both be there. The worst player in all likeliness Miami will be looking at if all the chips stacked against them is the best CB in the draft Joe Haden. An easy trade down is likely if that happens. If you look at a reasonable draft that approximates needs and what not Bryant or McClain usually end up in Miami. Is there still no one that one that thinks Miami may move Davis to FS and draft Haden?
And both dead (404). I'd really like to see where they got their numbers from. Because there's quite a lot of people and sites out there who are way better than 25% in April.
And aside from those 2 guys, there is nobody worth mentioning outside of the first round. If you want a franchise QB, you take him in the first. That is why the Rams will ultimately take Clausen or Bradford, just like the Lions eventually took Stafford. No, if we want to do FS we just take Earl Thomas. Haden would represent possible trade down value as hes far and away the best CB, but still, if not one of the ideal 5 of Eric Berry, Dez Bryant, CJ Spiller, Earl Thomas or Rolando McClain is available then I will be stunned.
Nate Jones could, the FA market is so thin this year if a team needs a Cb/Nickel he would make sense.
That is an excellent manner to look at it Jaj, the top twelve players are fairly well established, Haden is the best Cb in this draft class though he may not be drafted until slightly later, maybe mid 20's. This will be a very very predictable draft, unless the Rams or Bucs trade out to avoid the massive Rookie Contract, which would not surprise, 80 million to sign Suh? This will be the last season of that happening, imho we will see some cash strapped teams maybe trying to move back to save $$$$, the Browns did exactly that last season with the Sanchez trade. They saved 45 million dollars by making the deal.
Bryant @ WR or McClain @ ILB would be pleased to get either if Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska dropped a few picks in the draft would the TriFecta make a move?
That's a stretch. That's an absolute worst case-sceario way of looking at it. A huge contract is what 3-4m?
Up front cash Jaj, if he offered say a 5 million dollar signing bonus and 1 million per, we won't match that even low ball offer.
If a certain team is within the top five in the draft and refuses to pay a ridiculous rookie salary they could decide to trade out with us for perhaps a 3rd and a player. At that rate you could probably get in there in the right scenario for an Eric Berry.
