Chiefs introduce Ryan Schisno as new GM January 16th, 2009 KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI (Ticker) – Ryan Schisno, one of the unknown personel gurus in the league has accepted the post of General Manager for the Kansas City Chiefs after a search that included Ryan Schisno's own mentor Scott Pioli of the New England Patriots. Schisno is handed the task of turning around a Chiefs team that finished 2-14 last season. A team decimated by injuries to the quarterback position, and a struggling defense with the trade of All-Pro Jared Allen to the Vikings last offseason leaves head coach Herm Edwards in limbo. “Honestly, I have to sit down with Herm and decide if we share the same vision.” Rumors have swirled that Ryan Schisno favors bringing his own coach, most likely little known Indianapolis defensive backs coach Alan Williams. “It's not daunting, we have the talent and I know this can be a successful team.” The Chiefs have not won a playoff game since 1993, but now the expectations are high for Ryan Schisno to turn Kansas City around in a weaker than expected AFC West division. After helping three of four AFC East clubs the past few seasons it's a new job, new division and new challenge for Ryan Schisno to overcome as he tries to lead the Kansas City Chiefs back into the playoffs, “We don't want a wildcard berth, we want the division”. The questions remain with key positions at quarterback and on both the defensive and offensive lines, but the biggest question remains, can Ryan Schisno turn the Chiefs around and return them to their former glory as a perennial playoff team.
