i go mainly to get a laugh. Those guys are very witty/funny to me

 

I never go there... I was never fond of greatwade, he always came off as a jackass to me.

I thought they were funny as hell. The one dude is from my hometown of Ft. Myers (can't recall his name, D-Day?) I think we graduated from HS around the same time.

 

Yeah, d-day is from Ft Myers. I went there last summer and I contacted him about what there was to do there... Pretty nice guy...

They are to a point, but some of them dont know when to stop. And they have no respect for others what so ever. Its on thing for us to make fun of each other and cut on each other, but we know where to draw the line. Well except for Lucky and he's mentally handicapped so its ok.

mmm...vacations spots over here. It depends on what your interests are.

You can climb Mount Fuji. I'd recommend the overnight climb so you can watch the sunrise on the mountain. This is a Jul-Aug only timeframe sort of trip as the mountain's closed the rest of the year for climbing.

There's the historic sites at various cities, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Kyoto, and such if you're look for history.

Tokyo has a bit of everything from Kabuki Theater to Disneyland.

In March/April there's the Cherry Blossoms to see.

In Feb there's the Sapporo Ice Festival and I believe the "Fertility Festival" (different location) where they pay tribute to the male, uh, member. There are several very large ones on display and a big 8 foot or so shrine one that gets carried around.

You can walk across hot coals at Mt Takao.

Enjoy hot springs in many places.

So...the bottom line is that it depends on what sorts of things you want to do besides eating sushi, ramen, udon, and a variety of other great foods. Tokyo really has it all when it comes to selection of food.

if all you're concerned about is #'s and dolphins message boards, you'd go to FH. This site has less posters, but more quality about dolphins. she doesn't care about the dolphins, she wants attention. she'll get more of that over there, but she stopped posting over there awhile back. She probably found a Bills or Jets board with more oogling going on.

 

Here's a weird question. Do you have any idea how wheelchair accessible the attractions over there are? Mrs. Z. and I have long held Japan as a dream vacation spot for several years down the road.

just to clarify for me then.... if she was NOT an attention monger, why was she posting on FH for so long if she was not even remotely a dolphins fan, and didn't live anywhere near florida?

As with most places, it depends. The train system in Tokyo is very friendly with elevators at, I believe, all stations. There are also spaces set aside in a couple of the cars specifically for wheelchairs. That said, you will probably have to work with the station folks to get to those elevators in most places as the ticket gates aren't designed to let a wheelchair pass. The station personnel have other entrances for you and it's best to work with them anyway so you don't have to fight the crowds to get to the wheelchair space on the trains.

Most city buses have wheelchair spaces as well, although I have not seen them used.

As for the actual attractions...
You're not going to climb Mt Fuji, but I think there is another way to get to the top of the mountain by bus or something the back way if you're interested in that.
Disney always has accomodations.
Theaters and such (i.e. Kabuki)...mmm...I honestly don't know. My assumption is that it's hit or miss depending on the things you want to see.

I'll have to pay a bit more attention. If you know of any specific sites you're intersted in I can check them out for you.

So today at work here in New Jersey, I came across a Houston Texans "fan". Yes, they actually exist.

 

I'm still more likely to share a beer with a texans fan over a jets fan....present company not included of course....

 

i talked to a few fans when i was in texas...i know texan fans in texas? who'd think of that?
