yeah mine sits no more then 4 feet away from me. You have to wonder if you did something wrong that your not aware of, well at least I do.

Right there with ya man. Mine sits right behind me too. I have always found women bosses to be less accomodating then men. I prefer to work for myself over anyone, personally. But if I have to pick I pick a male boss. And a female dr.

 

My program director is male.....my direct boss is female....she rocks....shes always flexible (haha) with scheduling, and the PD is like a bat...in a cave....caves are dark....i dont see him often....

 

my cubicle is like a cave.

 

i know its not me. Its her personality i guess. Always "grumpy" and "miserable" when she walks in

to me If YOU walk in a room YOU should be the first to say hi.
Not just at work but in any situation

 

dont get me wrong she very flexible aswell but just lacks some Manager skills. To her defense shes only been a manager for 2 yrs now.

 

My take on female authority figures is this:

Female bosses MUST act like biotches

They feel its the only way to garner respect from male employees. Every female boss Ive ever had has been an insecure ball of pure *****.

IMO the main reason they lose respect from their male employees is because we can sense they are putting on a front to act more authoritative. They feel as though they need to change their personality to be 'In Charge'. Just my personal experience though.

 

I agree to an extent. However, my branch manager is a woman and a VERY good boss. She has been with our company for over 20 years as the Vice President of Engineering, and came over to run our branch a few years back. She has never changed herself and has been wildly successful since being here...

...okay she is gone form the room. She is horrid. Just kidding.

As for my direct boss, I probably see him about once a month and talk to him maybe twice as much during that span. It is really nice actually. I am left to my own devices.

I don't report directly to her. She would have no idea if I was there right now. Her job is to figure out what works and doesn't work for our branch and address those things. She does a great job with that and leaves the two Sales Managers in charge of knowing where us field reps are. It works quite well.

Same here, the Redskins and Chargers have been up my *** all day placing orders. Ive barely had a chance to converse with my favorite message board pals.

 

As long as the business is going good bro, we're happy for you. You should be grateful if your getting orders considering how slow it is going at all stores.

 

I hear you bro. Its not so much the amount of orders I have as the complexities of said orders. They all want something special instead of our standard items.

Yeah I know what you somewhat mean. When customers make orders at our furniture store, they are always asking for a special order and delivery. It can be a real pain in the *** but as long as its going bro, I dont mind the trouble.

 

I've had a job since I was 13 so it's not a big deal to me. A factory is a new setting because I'm use to working with agriculture type stuff because that's all we got around here for jobs it seems... And if I live off my parents when I'm 21-22, I'll allow you, enforcer, and Sam to hit me... just once. maybe twice.

You can LIVE with your parents forever for all I care. Just don't NOT work. Subtle but big difference. If you are working, and trying to get ahead but find it impossible to get out on your own, that is one thing.

It is when you don't work, don't go to school and sponge off your parents that is the problem with me. And really, the problem for me is most likely with the parents who allow it.

One of the best things my mother ever did was sit me down and tell me that when I was 18, she wa shands off with what I did, but if I lived with her, I would be paying rent or going to school. f I did neither then I was gone. The best part was that she was willing to follow through with it. Empty threats mean nothing.

So, I got a job, saved some money and ended up buying my first home when I was 21. Couldn't have happened if she had let me free load.

BTW Sam the 'Iron Sheik' was on LeBatard down here yesterday. I understood maybe 6 words out of his entire interview.
