Just finished school at FSU, moving to New Jersey from down here to try and take advantage of some opportunities up there. Have to get certified, been studying for their exam.

yeah, I am not a fan of Boca. Everything is expensive, nothing really to do, and like you said, filled with old rich people. Its a nice change from Nevada, and the weathers been great since I got here. I am 95% sure I am going back to Vegas in August, lease is up then, so I am bummed I won't be able to catch Fins games. One thing I loved about florida, was the fins were here. Fin Fest was awesome! I am hoping next year to come back for a game, depending on money and everything.
Yeah that's good you took advantage of it while your here. I am kind of bummed I'm not going to catch every game locally now, I'll be in enemy territory lol. My uncle is a Jet fan and has season tickets so at least i'll be able to go to one game a year. Gonna' be tough though for sure, living in Jet country. Might take a few trips to NE as well, I have a friend up there, would be kinda cool to see that stadium.
I was in enemy territory for 18 years. My brother is a Jet fan. As a kid it sucked, I could only watch the Dolphins when they played the Jets or on prime time. I remember one time they were playing the Giants, and my house was attacked by bees but I risked getting stung just to catch the game. I used to watch the helmets on NFL.com every sunday! Old school. I remember one intense battle with the Chiefs, Miami was down, game almost over, and the dolphins were driving down the field and all of a sudden I saw the Dolphin helmet disappear and a Red chiefs going the other way. Interception to end the game! I was pissed. I used to hate sundays when Miami would lose because I had school the next day, and I was to sad to do any home work that I put off all weekend. Man those where the days! Now I never miss a game. Either go to a bar, sports book or my house!
Haha yeah man I'm the same way, take losses personal, it ruins my whole week. I usually won't watch any thing sports related til' the next game. Sometime's I don't know how some people come on here and talk about the game when it's one of those tough losses. I just wanna lock myself in my room with the lights off hahah and the worst is when your friends break your balls lol. Us young guys never got to experience the glory days, always let downs, I hope we turn it around this season.
yeah, We had it when we were young, as we got a little older, things have been terrible up to now. The highest was probably Lamar Smith amazing game against the Colts in the first round of the playoffs! I remember the Monday night game against the Broncos where he broke his thumb, we were a playoff team, and then Ray Lucas came in and it went down hill from their. I remember that MNF win against the Pats, and staying up late to watch it! The sage rosenfels come back win against the bills! Man when I think of it, there were some good memories as a Dolphin fan growing up, other then 2008, we havent had that in a long long time
Yeah I never really appreciated Fielder until after he was gone, man everyone got beat up in that broncos game. I remember seeing Fiedler at a panthers game a week later and he was wearing a pink cast haha. He was solid, sad he's been the best we've had in over 10 years. Ray Lucas is for sure my most hated dolphin of all time. Your right though their was some good memories but they were few and far between lol, But I believe in RT, he's gotta turn us around, this is a big year for him to take that next step. You can just take an exam, without going through the academy or whatever the hell they got up there? That's sweet. I was researching info on Seattle, and the only way to get in is a lateral transfer, the befrementioned exam after a few weeks of courses, but the catch is that you need at least 2 years of experience as a full time LEO or go through their Academy. That's it. Sweet. Good luck with that. You planning on getting sponsored or paying your way? I paid my way through mine because it's bad times economically, departments are broke over here. Out of 50 people we had 1 girl who was sponsored, and the reason she got sponsored is because she worked 3 years as a dispatcher at the local PD, and her husband is a Lieutenant there. Hard to get sponsored around here, man.
most likely paying my way. Jobs are limited, and I just don't want to have to wait until they open up. I feel like getting it finish will make the process go quicker, so when they are hiring, I don't have to wait to start

I didn't realize there were so many opportunities up here though. I thought I kept hearing a lot of the departments were laying people off. Could be worse in other states, I suppose.
Going back to nevada in late july/early august, most likely. That's when my lease ends and I can't afford to live down here right now. To many bills, student loans, ect...
lol yeah man be up there in about 10 days. I'm moving to north east Jersey about 15 minutes out of NYC, the city is Little Falls. It's in Passaic county right around where giants stadium is, how far are you from around there? That's good for your brother and friend, that's what I'm hoping for, which department do they work for? My uncle just retired from being a Homicide detective up there so he's going to help me out which is a big plus. If your close we gotta check out a few games for sure, or check out that dolphans NYC .
It depends on the department, some require you to be certified in the state which is passing an exam before you apply. Others give you an exam after you've been selected to join the department, and then pay you a certain amount while they put you through their own academy. And some departments if your selected have you go through the academy (which you have to pay) and then you take the exam. So it varies department to department, but I'm excited to get started either way.

I could see being sick of both places, but for very different reasons. I spent 11 years in Jersey, went back 25 years later and realized I didn't miss it one bit.
Wish I was moving back to Florida......miss it more everyday. Doesnt help when I was in Jupiter for a week, and enjoyed every second of it. I took for granted going to the local sports authority or target and seeing all dolphins, heat, hurricanes stuff. Sucks.

Yeah I'm so accustomed to that, when I go to another state all the sports authorities or dick's look weird without all the miami gear.
