Weird that you brought it up. 2 doctors were talking about that on talk radio on the way to work this am... they were recommending it and saying to avoid wheat anything as much as possible... http://www.nerdfitness.com/blog/2010/10/04/the-beginners-guide-to-the-paleo-diet/ You got pics to do a before and after? (Nothing that would excite Todd. Stay zipped and covered.)
No. Just...bacon... My problem is chips and soda. **** is bad for you regardless of diet. I need to calm down the drinking too, limit it to potato vodka and only on weekends. The crap I am putting into my body sucks. So I am giving this a try to be healthier and leaner. Also, yes, I have before pics.....we'll see what happens with future pics, dont wanna break the site or anything with sexiness
Not just wheat, but processed **** that wouldnt be available without it being made. I am not avoiding wheat due to being scared of it or a fad, just no rice, beans, breads things like that.
yeah I was just talking in reference to wheat. Paleo skips it for the carbs and gluten aspect. But I've come to the conclusion theirs not that much backing that up. Especially gluten.
Sounds a lot like Atkins/low carb... I try to avoid sugar in general and usually do a low carb diet anyway. I can tell a difference in how I feel if I eat any sweets or anything with tons of carbs like breads. I just feel better when I eat low carb. Steak, chicken, salads, eggs, etc... are a staple of my diet.
Ray Allen did the paleo diet during the offseason. He re-introduced carbs into his diet for obvious reasons when the season started.
I think I am looking at this as a way to jump start myself into healthier eating. I will bring more things back once I have more control over my eating, **** is getting ridiculous.
Cut out the drinking all together. Do it for one month and go low carb. Walk three times per week and lift three (lower weight with lots of reps).
Cutting out bread all together I think can do wonders if your used to consuming a lot beforehand. Avoiding sports drinks and soda also is huge. I say this but I have a real issue following it, going to cut my beer intake down drastically now that I don't have to worry about football approx 340 OZ will be subtracted. I goto the gym but have been a ***** about it...Maybe here we can find motivation within eachother.
I'm all for it. Come on over and give me a massage? Seriously, I just started the regiment. ****ing sore stage right now.
I just started my diet Monday too. Want to lose about 40-50 pounds. Monday and Tuesday were excellent days, today was awful. Salami, cheese and cookies. Not good. Tomorrow is a new day though.
If you switched to paleo or keto, you could eat plenty of salami and cheese... no cookies though, I'm afraid.
I don't really follow any specific diet. I just eat a lot healthier (fruits/veggies/chicken/hard boiled eggs), drink healthier (water/seltzer/cut back on diet soda) and exercise. I have a tendency to slip up every now and then, unfortunately today was one of those days. I know if I don't have cheat days I'd go crazy but I usually try to wait longer than 3 days. I basically count calories. Maybe it's not the greatest method but I did lose 100 pounds doing that at one point. I put 40 of it back on so I got to take it back off and then I want to maintain it this time.
First full day doing this, water only, one black coffee (i know, i know).....made 3 eggs with some ham for breakfast. Had an apple around 11 for snack. Lunch is salad with ham, cucumber slices, an apple and organic yellow mustard mixed with organic honey for dressing. Dinner will be grilled chicken salad of some kind. Honestly, my house is filled with chips, soda, and crap.....the weekend will be tough. And I am not drinking any alcohol until I move into our new townhome February 1st. I know thats not a 30 day fast or anything, but I was drinking too much. Need to tone it down.
The sugars from vodka and diet soda alone should drop me 5 pounds by this time next week. Not counting chips, cookies, cereal and breads. Ill report often with any results.
