...then you'd pick it up again and throw it again, then pick it up and go to throw again only this time I catch your arm and your eyes are screaming for me to take you.
My boss finally got relocation assistance (lump sum payout) approved by HR a couple weeks ago, since the full blown policy relocation would cost twice as much. Only problem now (found this out today) is that if I take it as it's being proposed I'll lose 36-42% of the money to taxes. **** that.
Some sayings I have been working on this season. Started With Geno... here we go... Geno Smith, more like Gen-can't-throw Smith Colin Kaepernick... More like Colin KaeperPICK! 49ers... more like 4losers! Pittsburg Steelers... More like Pittsburg Losers and my personal favorite Miami Dolphins... More like Miami Dol-wins!
So remember when I got an accident recently, my neighbor backed into me. Insurance company ruled in my favor. Finally got the estimate today and it was $3,500. Its not worth that, its a little under $3000 or around there. I am hoping they just give me the cash because the damage doesn't bother me that much and I could use the money to pay off bills! It would be like me selling the car with not actually losing a car. Ill find out more this week. Worst case scenario, my car gets fixed for free, best case scenario, I get the cash
thinking about it, my car is worth 3,000 on the kelley blue book. They may give me the money because its not worth them spending $3,500 to fix the car, and then how much it cost for a rental car. Its not worth it, and saves them money
FINALLY received and signed my offer letter for my new position at work. I officially start my new position on Nov. 4th, which means moving to Houston for a little while on my own (maybe a month or so) before I can find a place to rent with my wife (while we wait for our house to sell). I at least get an 8% raise, when I wasn't expecting to get anything.
Field service work on Process Analytics equipment right now, but I'll be a Project Engineer for Process Analytics in Houston. Designing sample systems, buildings, and anything else that goes along with our (or our competitor's) analyzers.
So there was this guy FinD. Kinda cute, but never returned my calls. Haven't seen him in a while. Anyone?
Looking at houses over in the Houston area. Tough to find one I really like given the constraint of my current house still being for sale. My wife actually was over with me on Friday (had a job interview in the area), and we found a house that we really liked (layout wise), with a huge backyard and pretty much everything else we were looking for. Only problem is it needs new carpet all over, the whole upstairs needs painted, and then a couple other cosmetic things (small patches in walls not done well, some indentations from doorknobs that didn't have stops, etc). It could be really awesome with some work (assuming an inspector didn't find anything else), but I just don't know how much it'd cost up front to do a lot of stuff. I think my hands may be a little tied (as far as fixing stuff goes) until my current house sells. :/
Understand what you're saying about about having your finances tied up with your previous home. Had a buddy that ended up breaking even on his his just to move it and get out from under the note when he moved to Cali... That's really minor stuff to fix or upgrade though in that one you like. Make sure to thoroughly inspect the plumping and electrical, as well as the roof. Paying a few hundred for a thorough home inspection can really save you some major money later on.
he's right. cosmetic stuff is very easy to fix yourself. you may be able to work in some of the carpet stuff into reducing the sale price. Structural issues are what ends up killing you. besides the top priorities like plumbing and electrical, what shape are the doors and windows? Will they keep the Houston summer heat out? I bought an almost new home in Atlanta several years ago. I remember touching my daughters bedroom window in August and it was almost hot enough to burn me. Of course, since I bought the house in April, I had no idea and the inspector didn't catch it.
The windows are double pane I'm pretty sure, so it should be ok. But, yea structural issues are my biggest concern for sure.
Found a house newly listed on Sunday, which appeared to have a similar floor plan based on the listed room measurements as the one I was considering, and since it was in the same subdivision (though a different part). However, there weren't any pictures posted initially, but they posted today, and wow. Any interest in the other house is immediately out the window. It might cost slightly more (only $6k more on list, and I probably can't offer as low as the other one), but it doesn't appear to need anywhere near the same amount of work (if any right away), and has a configuration that appeals to us a little bit more (plus a covered patio). My realtor is trying to go check it out for me tomorrow if she can get an appointment and make sure the pictures aren't missing any problems or anything. Told her that based on the pictures and if she couldn't find anything wrong I'd be willing to make an offer so that I could get an inspector in there and get the process started on my end. So I have my fingers crossed.
Check out your neighbors cars and lawns and how well they keep their homes. Best research you can ever do.
FUUUUUU!!! My realtor was supposed to go look at the house today, and I was going to submit an offer if she said it checked out, but apparently they already have 3 offers and don't want any more at the moment. It just went on the market on Sunday!
Although I haven't sold my current house, and I haven't yet found a house in Houston, my wife did get hired to a job in Houston that will double her income. So that's a nice bonus.
I had this really vivid dream last night watching a jet take off and crash Unrelated, I have to fly to Baltimore in a few weeks
This girl I am seeing is a Red Sox and Patriot fan, and likes Dexter better then breaking bad... Obviously this is not gonna work out
On vacation next week in Orlando, just set up an interview down there as well! Gunna give moving back to Florida a shot! Can't wait!
Of course, after being on the market for 2 months the house I offered for got another offer in on the same day. Still waiting to see if I will get the chance to counter-offer or if mine is accepted outright. Edit: The seller decided to go with my offer, although they countered. I'm going to agree as soon as my realtor gets me the paperwork.
