I would normally agree with that, but this is a situation where they haven't had a relationship for nearly 2 years. She obviously thought that when it went public, it wouldn't bother him too much, and they would both go their own ways.

I am still thinking that he doesn't want her to come back, just doesn't want anybody else to have her either, which is so wrong. Surely the right thing for him to do would be to just let her go, and let us all get on with our lives ?

Late to the subject, and I hope you don't mind my quick input, but I would make her get an official divorce. If she is serious with you, then she will want to end the bs with that guy. And if she doesn't want to pursue a divorce, then I would leave her. At some point you have to shut the door on the past and move on. If she doesn't want to, then something is an issue, and I would move on. IMO of course. I would leave it at that.

 

If they really haven't been together for two years, then tell the guy to have a Coke and a smile - and shut the **** up.
