I went to work on Wednesday a week after starting the new job, and had it in gear, and the clutch was letting go and a bad stink. I got to work and home. I was trying to nurse until my first payday. Yesterday it did it again but not as bad. I was nervous of trying to drive home on the freeway, so I dropped it off at a shop I really have respect for. They tried to adjust the clutch but it was toasted at 54,684 miles.

 

That sucks man ... at least it waited to happen until after you had your new job ... it would have been worse if it happened before this.

 

My wife is on the phone with my mother in law, and my brother in law is a well respected plan check inspector for the city of Oceanside, and has received several promotions in a quick period of time, maybe getting laid off. I hope things get better soon.

 

That sucks John. I'll be thinking of you. At least it was just the clutch and not like the entire transmission ... my last car I had I paid $4k for it ... and then we sunk another $4k into "fixing" it 6 months later.

 

That sucks. It was the first amount of cash we really put into it. But it is just bad timing. It runs like a champ now. The thing that added to the cost was that it is front wheel drive. We don't have a car payment so that helps.

 

Is there ever such a thing as good timing? It seems like every time my wife and I put some money away something ends up coming up and we have to spend it away.
