Jason Pierre-Paul joined the Dolphins this week and the Broward County native said that he’s happy to be continuing his career close to where he grew up. Pierre-Paul is also happy to be playing for a team that he thinks can make a deep run in the postseason this year. Pierre-Paul won Super Bowls with the Giants and Buccaneers and shared his feelings about this team’s chances of getting a similar result when he shared some of what he talked about with head coach Mike McDaniel upon joining the team. “We’re going to get it cracking,” Pierre-Paul said. “I told him I’m happy to be here and they gave me a good opportunity to come home and try to win a Super Bowl, which I know these guys can. We’re just going to get it cracking and put all the pieces together.” Pierre-Paul also shared his view on what teams need in order to wind up celebrating in February. “You’ve got to be in sync,” Pierre-Paul said. “I’ve been on two good Super Bowl teams, and when I remember the things we all had in common, everybody was in-sync when it really mattered. We locked in, we did our jobs, and we trusted each other, trusted the coaches do their job, trusted the players do their job, and we just played physical. Everybody has got to be synced and ready to go, no matter what the situation is. You just got to believe in yourself and have faith that you’re going to get the job done.” Pierre-Paul played one game with the Saints before the Dolphins plucked him off of their practice squad. He said he didn’t know if he’ll be active against the Commanders this weekend, but called himself a “quick learner” when it comes to picking up new schemes.
I hope he comes in and plays lights out in a "Cam Wake" type role. Hopefully there's just enough gas left in the tank for a great playoff season.
Hope he fits in well. I have to believe he has some experience in a scheme similar to Fangio's or we wouldn't have grabbed him.
