Jonathan Martin Walks out of Practice (Freaked out)

Over $30K personally I wouldn't care if they 'rejected' me. I'd even take an *** beating to save that much money. That amount of money is obscene for almost any rookie. I can see throwing a bill of a few hundred dollars on a rookie but come on.

 

Clearly Richie Incognito threatened Will Davis to say that.

 

Was about to post, and say the bill was split between all the rookies...

 

Actually I was not referring to the bullying incident rather that my overall perception of Philbin has changed a lot during the last couple of weeks.

 

Don't we have someone in here whom a lot of the media guys follow at Twitter who can just post that?

Absolutely and I'm with you on this one.

I'm just not as sold anymore as I was after last season. But don't get me wrong. I'm not saying he should go or anything like that.
There are just some things that gives me some food for thought.

But again, you are right. As long as the team is fighting and not giving up.

 

Why aren't you calling out the media for turning this into a 'bullying" incident in the first place? That's the real lie that they queefed into existence.

 

I wonder if this is being driven by Martin's parents more than Martin himself? I mean aren't they both lawyers? Or is it doctors they are?

Edit: lawyers and that's going to be bad news for the Dolphins.

Like i said in another thread this has less to do with the Dolphins and more to do with the NFL,NBA,NHL,MLB type of culture that rubs Martin the wrong way, and others,

 

I don't think it's bad news for the Phins at all. I think what you have here is a player that has felt the heat literally all year long and then as the season progressed and the trouble mounted I'm sure being a very intelligent person he heaps plenty of pressure on himself.. I think the gag was just happenstance but it was the straw for Martin. He lost his cool and snapped. sometimes people need a break from it all. sometimes they need to have time to unwind and he hasn't.

it's unfortunate that this has happened the way it has. the media is clearly looking for a way to show the organization that they are going to get what they want and now it has gone national and no one wants to hear the full story. it has to be the truth, the Phins have to be falling apart, blablabla...

 

This is what it is guys, this culture probably exists in a large majority of locker rooms but now there is a movement to put an end to it and unfortunately we are going to pay the price for it, bigtime.

 

Oh, this is bad for us, the PR is going to be intense and terrible, only question for me is how will affect the team the rest of the season.

 

this story had a good head of steam going into Thursday night. I don't think the locker room is in shambles as the media would like for everyone to believe. i think they rally and hold their own. the only bullying going on here is the media trying to make a point and not seeking the truth what ever that actually may be

 

I can definitely see this pull this team together, but it depends how Philbin plays it too.

 

Front page NFL.com Dolphins players used as ATMs. Sighs...have no idea who to believe on this whole thing..so many different stories.

Adam Beasley used the term "ATM" and I could see that being greatly exaggerated.

 

I don't think this is something exclusive to Miami tho. that sound you hear is a collective gasp from players league wide

 

And if that is the case rookies going broke cause they are being taken advantage of then that's gotta stop. These kids got immediate family I'm sure they have to take care of.

 

yes if that is the case. but I think the reality is the rookies are collectively paying these bills and not just one. again not saying it's right or wrong but I doubt it is isolated to Miami. I'm sure any player could recite a time when they had to do something similar.

 

As a courtesy to the board, please do a little reading on mental health issues and what constitutes bully behavior when you comment. You are obviously free to comment any way you want and I would not want to deprive you of the free speech we all appreciate. But balance your gut emotional responses with some facts. I don't know what kind of things Martin really went through and most of you don't either. But I will give him the benefit of a doubt that there were some issues that go deeper than a simple lunchroom prank. I am pulling for a mature resolution to this situation. Everyone learns and wins in some way. Smarter locker room culture. More awareness from leadership, or finding leadership who does understand. Addressing these issues so focus can return to the field and making smarter decisions there.
