I respect your opinion but I'm going to disagree with you. If he blows up against Jacksonville, they'll focus on the throws that they believe he missed and drag him for it. Then, if he plays well against Atlanta, they'll find some reason to say that Herbert and Burrow played better. The only way I think he becomes THEIR QB is if he leads us to the playoffs. Even then, they'll complain that he did it against the easiest part of the schedule. Personally, I really want the kid to play well. Not just because he's a Dolphin but because he's one of the most decent young men I've seen in or out of the league. If he doesn't work out, I'll be the first to admit it. But I'd at least like to see whether he can scratch his potential while in South Beach before we witness his (inevitable?) ascension somewhere else. I never expect to read the following phrase on these boards, Reddit, Twitter, or Facebook, regardless of his success level in Miami: I was really wrong when I believed Tua could not be a franchise QB. They'd say it in person, but not under the guise of a screen name. We're conditioned to believe that failure is our due.
I like Herbertosis. Just like nobody wants to talk to someone with bad breath, I'd just as soon they keep that putrid communication to themselves.
Oh this is where you are 100 percent wrong. If he becomes a franchise I will gladly eat crow and apologize to each and everyone one of you!I want to win more than feeding my ego.Of course I need to see it before I believe it.As you said Tua is a good dude but so was Tim Tebow.I would rather have the dick that can play over the nice guy that can't.
There is difference between hoping Tua does well, and being real. Up until now he has been a bust, and we should have picked Herbert. Your fandom should not get in the way of reality. In fact part of being a real fan is calling out your team for stupid decisions. We are sick of Grier, Ross, and all their stupid decisions. Tua has to earn our cheers and win over the fans. We don't owe Tua anything until he finally shows up and balls out.
Okay, but how do we pick Herbert now?!? It's just not an option. And like I said, my draft board was to bet the farm on Burrow or take Jalen Hurts later on (while taking OT Wills or Becton #5 overall). I didn't want us to draft Tua but that doesn't matter- he's our QB now and it doesn't matter what I thought or wanted. He has my support 100%. I completely get what you're saying- but what's done is done.
We can't change what happened, but we have every right to complain about it and **** on Grier until he gets fired so he doesn't get more chances to **** things up.
