We have two pilots, but Kellen will win out the camp and get the nod.

I think I agree with you B. I've seen nothing but good from Clemens, however, if you guys get Favre will there be a competition or will he definitely start?

IMO, if the jets grab favre, they are convinced kellen isn't the guy, OR mangini is doing it in desparation trying to save his job. At this stage, Kellen needs game reps more than anything.. sitting the bench another year will have little return... again, jmo

Marty - Do you think Mangini is in the hot seat this year or will definitely be next year if the Jets stink it up this season?

I honestly think he could lose his job over "this" season. NY is very fickle.

It's amazing how in just two seasons - this is his third, right? - he went from golden haired wonder boy to public enemy #1 up here, at least in the eyes of the media - not necessarily Jet fans.

There is no question that Favre would be the starter from Day 1. You don't trade for one of the best Quarterback's all-time to have him in a QB competition.

Anyway, if the Jets don't get Favre, Chad will be the guy whose handed the ball Week 1 in Miami. The Jets, supposedly, are concerned about Kellen's "happy feet" and his "inability to read the defenses" according to numerous people inside the organization. Also, you don't go out there and spend around $140 million and hand the job to a guy with 8 mediocre starts under his belt.

In 2008 this will either be Chad's or Brett's team.
