http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/8628834/aaron-maybin-cut-new-york-jets I like his game, to me he is a purpose built pass rusher don't use him for other stuff.
So, he couldn't do diddley squat for the Jets who desperately need a pass rush, and you want him here? no thanks.
Michael Jackson .gif=creepy factor off of the charts And yessir, I'd take a shot on Maybin, who else besides Kraken is getting after the passer for us?
Heh, Kacy Rodgers is one of the best Dline coaches in the league and Maybin has the raw material. When Rexxy is fired his largest transgression will be the same as Sparano here, no real player development.
It's not like Maybin has ever had a mentor like Wake to take him under his wing and help mold him. This might be Maybin's 4th year, but he's still only 24. The potential could be there to develop into a quality situational pass rusher over the next few years as he continues getting bigger & stronger and develops better skills.
can't recall any examples of someone being a bust for two teams and going to a third team and excelling. If Kacy Rodgers can teach a bust like Maybin to rush the passer, then why can't he get one of our non-Wake defensive lineman to do the same? I'd rather pin my hopes on Vernon than Maybin
Folks tend to forget before Cam Wake was Cam Wake he was Derek Wake and he washed out with 4 teams and was out of football for a year before he went to the CFL. Arguably one can say Vernon will develop, however, you can never have to many guys who can rush the passer. Maybin v Shelby for example.
Pod I've told you about this guy since before the draft, he's a bust man..in the jimmy claussen sense.
Terrible example with Cameron Wake. The situations aren't even comparable. Wake was never supposed to be a great pass rusher. When he left the NFL he completely changed his life around in order to attain a very very unlikely goal. Maybin is/was a highly touted guy with all the athletic skills you could ask for who has underperformed his entire career.
We should sign him for the fact to get him to spill the beans on the Pat's defensive playbook. Heck, Pats would do this in a heart beat on us or any other divisional opponents.
