As the the long season drags on, these fast /smart guys get dinged up, tired and slow down. Big guys don't usually don't get smaller.
i'll take punishing - any day of the week from a football team. it will be the exception, not the rule, that a finesse team will beat you -- come playoff time. also note, that the FO looks for the combination ... size and speed ... and they work pretty hard on the stamina part via the 'voluntary workout program'
no brain-er: size i.e. height & weight + speed & agility + strength = athleticism talent + athleticism = NF potential the intangibles of intelligence, heart & coach-ability round out the equation & are indicators of greatness the Dolphins are collectively all these things plus young they also bring to the table consistent ProBowl veterans ( pennington, williams, taylor & porter ) to mentor & lead the team you got to love what the NewRegime has done with the Miami Franchise.
