Nice, really raw prospect with a ton of tools, 6'8 300 pds 4.9 40 and a wingspan of a 7'2 man he was drafted in the 6th rd by the Browns and Irish poached him off of waivers.

Do not know if he will be active, in fact I'd doubt it, but it is a good dress rehearsal for "Monster"

if he can play with a motor he will be pretty decent .... what i have seen from him is that he is lazy -- fix that and he could be very good

Chances are good he will be inactive.

IDK, I suspect a few things about Steve Spurrier's USC program, like maybe there are some of the "other" USC's approaches to player development going on, only instead of the Defensive players being NFL ready, it is the offensive players who are more NFL ready.

Either way, with so much raw talent, if he is developed he can be something, he had upside and tonnes of it.

He certainly has the bloodlines being both his brother and father were/are good pass rushers. He has some talent. Raw though. We'll see.

I bet, NFL practice squaders make up to 5k per week, with the rent in Miami, dude is probably eating Ramen to make his budget work..:D

For some perspective on how Geathers hasn't filled out, Shaq is what 7'1 340?

Dude is 6'8 300 pds..he needs to add at least 20 pounds of quality weight.

Could be, eat enough of it and I've heard you will begin hallucinating.

Dude is so tall, you could team him with McDaniel and have two Dlinemen who will make it tough to throw over.

    I amz n der hedz...:shifty:

Funny thing is, Geathers is a higher pick than Chris McCoy was, so we basically landed a higher draft pick for just the cost of a practice squad contract, that there is some fine GMing.

OmarKelly mentioned the Dolphins need a situational passrusher, a point that at first would draw a "WTH?" but if you think about it, an additional passrusher would allow Wake and Misi to occasionally take some blot time.

Maybe Irish makes a raid north of the border to snatch a Phil Hunt or Odell Willis after the season is over up there?

Well they both play for Winnipeg , they have some upside but not anywhere close to what Wake was for BC. They can't play right away as well of course if they sign.

Out of curiousity (not doubt) why couldn't either one play immediately?

I had maybe 4 or 5 games at the end of the year in mind, from say mid Dec through January as well as imo it would be a no brainer for the Bills to go after either one of them.

FWIW, I think Hunt is more explosive than Willis, but Willis has a better frame for the NFL game.

The players aren't free to sign right after their season , much like in the NFL. They have to wait till the official date.

"That window permits CFL players to sign with an NFL team between January 1 and February 16 of the ‘option year’ of their contract".

After 18 games it probably is prudent to not have that option , as wear and tear could make for an uneeded injury.

Hmm, is Hunt a window guy? He signed in 09 and played out the yr then will have played all of this season.

I'm not sure if an air drop season counts as a season inow.

I sort of have to laugh at the folks who are like "oh, he can just play in the CFL"

What they don't realize is the rosters are even smaller so players have to be even better, or they won't make a team..period.

That's his father. His brother is Robert Geathers of the Bengals.
