    I guess it's better to shut him down now and avoid any more damage to him. Kinda wish they would have made that decision earlier in the season, though I know Jake wouldn't have gone for it.

    The is horse ****. They shoulda IRd him 7 weeks ago. But instead, they do it hours after his pro bowl announcement.

    He'd almost certainly have a rather big problem with being put on IR for an injury that did not warrant it. Not just from a pride standpoint, but from a contract incentives standpoint.

    Better to put him on IR and let someone else get some experience. Next year will be another year of transition for the offensive line with healthy Long and Pouncey probably the only players guaranteed a position, but we will see.
