Is there a clear pick for the nuber one overall? I think that is the bigest issue we face this year. I am not sold on anyone being a clear #1. This is also creating a problem in trading the pick. I am interested in hearing your guy's opinons.
Mcfadden is probably the closest thing, but I have a problem taking a back #1 overall so there he goes. After that if you play the 4-3 it might be Dorsey, but he has question marks too. This year anyone could go #1 overall IMO. The good thing about this draft is that there should be a lot of talent in the second, third, and fourth rounds. The top is weak in comparison to other years though.
of course there isn't a clear over all pick, because there are a thousand different routes our fearless leaders can go. on one hand, they can go with an obvious QB decision with Matt Ryan/Brohm, etc. with the excuse that Beck and McCown simply aren't starting material, or they need someone to be a backup for Beck/McCown, etc. or they could use Chris Long and use a trade with JT to further build on other positions, ..... anyways there's a million situations per pick and honestly i don't think parcells/ireland/sporano have given a clear hint to who they've decided upon. and at this point in time, i don't think even they know who they're going to choose yet. there's still time to make trades, pick up any last FA's, and evaluate on draft picks. it'd be nice if they wrote a thread on here and just said hey guys, don't tell anyone, we're picking so-and-so....but it just isn't the case. and football, whether people like to agree or not, is loosely run on politics. so any hints we MAY have perceived as a hint could have just been a smoke screen. or the simpler response..... no, there's no clear #1 right now.
true even though there isnt a clear #1 that doesnt mean there isnt #1 talent chris long jake long vernon gholston, mcfadden and glenn dorsey all have the potential to be #1 talent the dolphins dont need a running back so that cuts out mcfadden, different circumstances he could be a fin but with what the fins need it leaves the rest i mentioned i didnt add ryan because i dont feel he has potential #1 talent first round talent probably , but just because there is not clear #1 doesnt mean there isnt a #1 which i think is a great thing not a bad thing
true, there is definitely a clear definition of who is going to be in the top 5 based on talent....but the topic at hand (unless i am mistaken, in which case i apologize) is who will be our #1, which is why i tendered my response as such.
I kind of disagree. There are a lot of guys with top ten potential, but not really any who I consider #1 type guys to build a franchise around.
Not even an issue IMO. The toss up to me is between the longs and even then I think chris long is the front runner........
