If being a fan means lying to yourself, maybe it's time to take a step back.

Yessir, the real fact is it matters more who you lose to then who you beat early in the season, last yr the AFC loses knocked our playoff chances into the single digits.

This yr, we face a similar challenge, 4 games v teams in the AFC to start the season a 1-3 start and we are in bad shape, just like 2010.

Sparanos first season, we were one of those 45.

Last year, KC at home stunned the Chargers for their home opener on Monday night. Now that franchise is viewed differently. Someone has to be "that" team. Why not us???

Ech, what a passive, limp motto. What was he thinking?

Which is a really great example to bring up because that victory may have foreshadowed the fact that Kansas City was on its way to the playoffs and San Diego was on its way to not being in the playoffs.

Particularly because that game exposed SD's special teams problems which were never fixed.

Too many define a fan as someone who accepts everything about the team, movie star, rock band, whatever, uncritically and remains loyal despite dissapointment.

To me, I support stuff I'm a fan of, but that doesn't mean I won't criticize those things if I think they could be better. I'm a huge Pearl Jam fan. I didn't care for their last album. That doesn;t mean I stopped liking them or that I will never go to another concert.
