So what do you think...is it true? Link:http://blogs.sun-sentinel.com/sport...7-passes-for-140-yards-in-the-first-thre.html
I think he is...I thought long would be in it too after the first few games but he broke outta it... hopefully Bess can too
hes a great story. he was solid last year. but really, if we were more talented all around at the position, he might not be here. Bess has made it obvious that he is incapable of moving the ball down field more than 5-10 yards. He's quick, but not fast at all. And when you start fumbling and dropping wide open passes, you make us question why you're even on the field. He wouldn't be on the field for us if he was drafted #9 overall. But since he was undrafted, he gets a free pass. The only problem, it doesn't matter where you were drafted (or if you were drafted at all) all that matters is what you do on the field. And Bess should be riding pine for last week alone. (i have a problem with the double-standard we have towards bess and ginn, if it wasn't obvious...)
we have a QB who can throw the ball deep so he doesnt always dunk it off to Devone Bess witch Chad Pennington did
I think Bess kind of is in a slump but he was undrafted so there wasn't many expectations from me and I think he is decent. He has had a hard time lately but I think it is because he was so used to Pennington throwing and now has to get in rhythm with Henne. Also he is only in his second year so I would still give him time to develop with Henne more,he proved with Pennington that he can be reliable.
Bess doesn't have the speed to be successful. He doesn't off off the line well, and doesn't have the burst to separate himself before or after the catch. He's pretty useless, IMO. He's not Wes Welker, and will never be.
Bess is just a decent short yardage Receiver. He will never make someone miss, he wont break tackles, he has reliable hands and has great short speed. But if he drops easy balls there isn't much going for him. At least with Ginn he can fall back as a return guy.
