Rumors out of San Diego persist that the Chargers will franchise tag Sproles and then look to deal him and his 6.6 mill cap number... question is, what would an interested team offer in return. The Chargers may take less than two firsts as it is highly doubtful any team would part with that high of a cost. Yet how much less would they accept for the diminutive one...???
HA! 6.6 mil and a high pick for a little one year wonder? Usually I'd say SOMEONE will take that offer but since Paul is the one dealing Sproles.......
Paul use to work at an Auction, so this whole bidding thing is in his blood. Just watch out for his gavel.
only if someone bid on him and Oakland prefer to takethe first and third. Otherwise he can match and then freely trade him away
Well, I'm not going to beat around the bush... the 6.6 mill is a hinderance... and basically puts me out of the free agency race for anyone of note... not that I can't bottom feed... done it before, got some bargains last season. But, I'd rather not
that only gives you the right to match, and you still have to chunk down what 5.9 mill for Sproles (and I guess that's where the bidding starts)... transition tags are STOOPID! you get nothing if you don't match... not even one of these
It was used effectively last season by the Patriots GM who Franchised Brady and Transitioned Moss or something like that allowing him to keep both.
