I have the 4S. I searched Google first but didn't find anything that worked, I even tried the DiskAid route. My 4S has abut 2.6 GB of used memory by "other"!! How do I clear or get rid of this? It has accumulated over time, and I cleared my Safari. I have no Idea what is taking up this space. All apps, music, moves etc are all accounted for. We are not talking 100mb here. 2.6 GB??? Something must be up, and I really do not want to restore my phone. Any suggestions??? Thanks in advance.
"Other" can be anything from cache files to local data saved by apps (PDFs in Goodreader/Adobe Reader, game save files, etc). Uninstall some data-hungry apps and you'll see that drop. By the way, since the advent of iCloud, phone restoring basically consists of reinstalling the OS and redownloading everything that was on it (iTunes Store purchases including apps) when you restored. It's much better than it used to be.
