IMO the whole reason for the lockout was that the owners felt the 2006 deal was unworkable going forward. The players were fine with that deal. I got the impression that more than few owners thought that missing a whole season or more was better than being stuck with the deal they had from 2006.
I turned Schefter off a long time ago, to me he is just a hype merchant and just reached the "enough" point with him, what is the point of this story to begin with? Some owners don't like the deal? So what? Not everyone likes any deal, the real point would have been "and they have the clout to stop a deal from happening", which he never says.
I used to really like him when he was on NFL Net, after he switched to ESPN... Not so much I think this is pretty much a non-story - If "a handful of NFL owners" is less than 8 (and a handful usually is )they can't do anyhing about it anyways..
Wonder who the two afc teams are? First opinion would be Oakland and Cincinnati. Davis and Brown are known cheap.
Probably more likely Buffalo(Ralph Wilson is cheaper than Davis), and Cincinnati, they were they ones that opposed the last CBA.
