Long time reader, rarely post. Found this to be a good read. Also, is it appropriate to post these here? http://www.phinsnews.com/miami-dolphins-news-miamis-offense-base-opinion-off-tape/
Great article and analysis. Exactly what I see as well Gase is predictable as hell everybody and their mother knows what he is going to run and he does not adapt at all. We should have been attacking the middle of the field with the passing game all day long until they backed off and stopped playing the run. Gase seems to be going through a sophmore slump, he is calling plays like this is his rookie season and he doesnt know what he is doing yet. I also think calling the plays from the field as a head coach is a bad idea. There are too many things he has to deal with as far as game and player managment, dealing with officials etc... to be able to focus on also calling the offense and adjusting to the defense on the fly. He also has a very bad view of the field from the sidelines. I think gase needs to swallow his pride and let christensen call the plays from the box upstairs. Also let cutler audible at the line if necessary.
Is it simply bad play calling? Or, is it poor play execution + vanilla play calling due to offensive line struggles?
