is it too outrageous of an idea to drop both Ronnie and Ricky and pick up D'Angelo and sign Ingram? I love Ronnie but he hasn't really proven anything lately and his better days are behind him. Same with Ricky except hes even older! I think Ingram and Williams would be an excellent 1-2 punch in the backfield and would rejuvenate our run game with any additions we make to the oline this year. Anyone think this would be a good idea or would even be thinkable?!

That would be pretty nasty, I would only be satisfied if we can somehow trade back in the late 1st plus get a 2nd round pick and be still be able to get Ingram with that late 1st

If you sign D williams, than you dont draft Ingram...If you draft Ingram, you dont sign Williams....its as simple as that....Its not a wise use of your teams resources from a GM perspective to aquire both players.

The price we'd have to pay may not be worth it. Williams will want probably his last big payday in the NFL while Ingram is Mark Ingram.

Exactly, that'd probably be overkill. Plus DeAngelo Williams wasnt thrilled with a time share in Carolina, dont see why he'd want that situation here

Every time I hear or see his name it's as if it was being yelled at me politely (like "I'm Brian Fellows" skit in picture). I'm already sick of hearing everyone saying we're gonna take this guy. We're already a team of grinders, it's almost as if the league has typecast us; where we can only take this guy because he fits our mentality/ideology/philosophy...I'm Mark Ingram!

i can assure you that I have never wavered from the man, from the get, check the record, never wavered..and there is no reason to apologize if the majority believes that he is the right choice.. you being sick of his name doesn't mean that he isnt completely right for what our team needs imo.

I believe you underrate the player's skillset....cause that the only basis as to why I want him in Aqua.

When it comes to 1st rd value, RB's just don't grade out well in the Parcells Paradigm (first!)...It's just propaganda to these guys, and I don't want to hear any more "Mark Ingram to the Dolphins" propaganda at this point.

Heres our first round draft scenarios imo..

    Draft QB

    Draft von miller..{I only use his name because he would be the only player i would go defense for at 15, but we all know hes going way before}

    Draft Mark ingram.

If those three things dont happen, trade down...trade down..trade down...

Whatever. The more I think about moving Ronnie to FB, the more I like it. With Ingram, both can block and are VG receivers out of the backfield. Ingram was my pick before the last game, and you may have made it better. Thanks.

He will be a new england Patriot if we trade down, they have too many picks in the top 50 not to take the premiere running back in the draft...I would say their main goal is to surround Brady with the best running attack possible in his twilight years...If it wasn't for them, I would say we would have a real shot of trading down and still land the player...Maybe Indy snatches him up at #22, new orleans at#24 but that would steer away from putting the ball into the hands of Manning and Brees, however, Polian did select Addai in the first round, so you know he'll do it..

    16..Jacksonville (8-8)...no need
17..New England - from Oakland (8-8)...def need for the twilight career of Brady...Jarvis green is average.
    18..San Diego (9-7)....nope
19..New York Giants (10-6)..maybe?...bradshaw is a free agent.
20..Tampa Bay (10-6)..nope, not unless their boy knocks someone the fu$# out this offseason.
    21..Kansas City* (10-6)..nope
22..Indianapolis* (10-6)..They need defensive help, but maybe the same rules apply to manning as brady..Addai is a free agent.
    23..Philadelphia* (10-6)..nope
24..New Orleans* (11-5)..just dont see Payton straying away from what they do..and if your not gonna feed the beast, than whats the sense...Plus they got frenchy there.
25..Seattle* (7-9)..The predator is on the loose in seattle...nope
    26..Baltimore* (12-4) Ray rice krispies...nope
    27..Atlanta* (13-3)..nope..defensive needs
    28..New England* (14-2)..see #17.
29..Chicago* (11-5)..Forte to good, way other needs.
    30..New York Jets* (11-5)..nope
    31..Pittsburgh* (12-4)..nope
32..Green Bay* (10-6)..I would if I were them, and he dropped this far.

Well, first we aren't 'dropping' R&R, they are FAs and we may or may not be able to re-sign them due to not only what they may want in compensation but also due to the uncertain labor front right now... While having DeAngelo and Ingram sounds great, someone of that combo will be disappointed in their carries. The issue isn't the RB talent on our team, the issue is the OL. We need a LG something awful and we need Jerry to continue to develop on the opposite side. Pat McQ is a decent backup but not guy we need starting. Incognito started the season as the LG, but has no pulling ability whatsoever and was moved back to his natural position at C later in the year. Garner may have made a difference, that remains to be seen, but our issues with running the ball should be directed at the OL, not the RBs we currently have...

Things will be all screwy this year if the draft is before FA as well, which looks more and more likely. That makes who we get at RB to replace R&R (if they choose to go that route) really up in the air. I think Ingram could very well be the choice at #15, IF they can't reach a trade with someone to move down and re-coup the 2nd rounder spent on Marshall. Ideally, Irish would rather make the trade down and worry about a RB elsewhere. The main thing is that we don't just need a RB...we have several key needs that are best upgraded thru the draft rather than FA....(interior OL, TE, speedy WR, S, OLB, Returner, etc)...

Thanks DJ, nice run down. I believe the Pats go OLB with their first pick. Their second one would scare me. So, I think we have a VG shot of trading down up to #27 which could get us the 2nd rounder and Ingram.

    That would be sweet.

I'm looking to fill needs at OL, and OLB in FA, and maybe S. I'm looking to the draft for RB, TE, speed WR/returner or speed RB/returner. QB is the wild card. I don't see any I really want but, we gotta get somebody.

IMO we NEED two starting quality backs, preferably one Vet & one rookie. Williams & Ingram would work for me, if we could trade down from 15. As long as they're skill sets compliment each other rather than overlap. One big pay/versatile guy, one inside tough yds/goal line guy & we'll be set.
