Derinkuyu, the mysterious underground city of Turkey | Corner Mystery It may just be my inner geek, but I find this to be very cool... a 3500 year old underground city.
Awesome, I wonder what it was used for? Was it to avoid invading armies? Was it to escape extreme weather/natural disasters?
The city was used as a refuge for thousands of people living in the basement for protection from the frequent invasions suffered Cappadocia, at various times of their occupation, and by the early Christians.
Nabo has to come in and ruin it for everyone with his "facts", this thread could have been 20 pages long, we'd be guessing for days...but nooooooo...
I still say it was for awesome LARP Dungeons and Dragons events... ...or at least it should be now...
They had a show on this in the travel/history/science channel. One of them I forget which one. Very cool episode.
Pfft....reading things is highly overrated. I prefer to have people do it for me, makes me feel important.
