Hello Dolphin fans. My name is Sid Rosenberg. You may have heard of me. Based on some of the posts here it seems like you have. It's all good. I've worked (and still work) with Imus and Stern and I learned quickly not everybody will like you. I'm cool with that.It is funny to read how inaccurate some of your posts are. I am obviously no longer at 790 The Ticket. But it certainly wasn't for lack of sales or ratings. But don't let the facts get in the way of hating on a New Yorker.Fact is I'm a die hard Giant fan. But I hate the Jets and like the Dolphins. With that said I'd love to have a dialogue in here with you guys. And feel free to check out my Facebook, Twitter and sidrosenberg.com pages as well.Talk soon!
Welcome aboard Sid, I would like to know from you the reason of your departure from 790 The Ticket. Wish you the best with Imus and Stern.
I am not going to spend time going over the 790 situation. There were creative differences from all parties. I'm not in here to discuss that. Thanks for the welcome.
Hopefully you fall into a place where you are better accepted by the local fanbase. In here we're all Dolphins fans and welcome to the board. I hope you can hang around here and kinda make yourself at home, and don't mind the haters. Good luck with your ventures.
Thanks Phinnhed. Haters don't bother me. These boards have been predicting my demise since I got here from WFAN almost 4 years ago. Looking forward to this Dolphin season. Not a bigger fan in all of South Florida of Bill Parcells than me. Trust me. He delivered me 2 Super Bowls. I also guarantee I'm the only South Florida radio host to speak personally 3 times with Steve Ross LAST year. Brady back. Jets should have a top notch defense. And the Bills line up every Sunday with T.O. and Evans on the outside. Should be a lot of fun inside the AFC East.
Sid ... welcome aboard bro ... glad to have you. I agree that it's going to be a heckuva tough year for us, with Brady back, the Jets and Bills making moves, and our murderer's row schedule. I know a lot of the folks on the board would appreciate your insight into the moves we've made, the draft, etc ... I know I'm personally glad to have you here man. Welcome aboard.
Definitely going to be a tough division this year, I trust in Parcells that we have made the necessary acquitions to remain competitive in the AFC Beast.
Thanks Venge. I like the Fin's moves. They needed physical, cover corners and wideouts and got a few in the draft. Although wide receiver STILL has to be a concern. I like Turner but he's not Crabtree or Macklin. Ginn shows flashes but zero consistency. If you're starting this season again with Camarillo as your best option that might be a problem. For the money it was a no brainer to bring J.T. back... The Patriots are still the class of this division and in my estimation the best team in football. And it pains me to admit that the Eagles had the best draft of all. All in all I would give the Fish a "B" for the offseason so far. Gonna be tough.
Guys, Thanks SethDad. I'm sure I will. Please respect the fact that I can NOT discuss any potential radio deals in here either. But I will be more than happy to post in here when something comes to fruition. For now let's try to keep the discussion to Dolphins (or any NFL), any other sport, politics, pop culture, etc. If you are familiar with my show (and like it) you know there are very few topics I can't discuss. Thanks guys.
I share your feelings for the Phins and Giants though I do love the phins first (truthfully its not really close). You were pretty good on the FAN in NY though I havent had a chance to listen to 790 much in NY. If I remember correctly from your days in NY, you are a big Mets fan as well which makes you ok in my book
Welcome aboard Sid, I've not heard your shows but look forward to reading your points of view, insight etc
Welcome, Sid. Glad you were able to find us. We consider ourselves family here and we hope that you will, too. If you want Dolphin talk, then you have come to the right place. Please let us know if there is anything you need.
welcome.. I was hoping OJ would sock ya during that first week.. and I called you sidiot for years.. but THEN I discovered you had helped one of our own to further his carreer.. so now you're sorta okay ... but for that horrid ax cent
Ax cent? Funny. I am a die hard Met fan too. Just to set the record straight I root for the Giants, Dolphins, Mets, Marlins, Knicks, Rangers, and St. Johns. I also have my own forum over at www.mikefrancesa.com. As far as O.J. is concerned. Things got a little heated those first few days but we do have a great friendship today. In fact we're playing golf in Schnellenberger's tournament on Monday.
Sid is andy still with the ticket? good to see you around here.....you brought me on the air the first time when i was interning for lebby i always appreciate that....always enjoy your show. gunna be cool to talk with you on here my man.
Hey Sick. Glad I helped. Yes. Andy is still with "The Ticket" producing Sedano's show in the morning. But Andy and I talk all the time and remain close. In fact I am meeting Andy and a few of my other "Ticket" guys for lunch later on today. Good luck pal!
Hey Sid if you ever get bored or simply have no life like some of us...lol.... Check out the Sick and Big E show on Sat. nights at 10PM ET. Follow the link on my sig for archived episodes. And if you ever have any questions about the site of any kind feel free to ask me.
Welcome to the best Dolphin fan site on the web. Most of our members are very hard core Dolphin fans who are very knowledgeable in general. Unlike most MBs we are respectful of other opinions even though we may not always agree with them. Your views will be well received.I hope you will visit us often.
excellent, I'm glad that worked out. It is good to have you join us, make yourself at home.. and it was Chris who turned me around on you, he defended you pretty well and when he told us you took the time to help him.. well, that changed things!
Cool. Thanks for the warm welcome. Let's start with this.... What wide receiver out there on the market would you like to see end up on the Dolphins?
Welcome aboard Sid... very cool to have you here... As to your question. I would hope that we've addressed our wide receiver needs with the drafting of Turner and Hartline. Spending two draft picks on the position, considering the fact that they are relatively high (third and fourth rounders) gives me expectations that they'll contribute this year. Sprinkle in Ginn, Bess and Camarillo and I'm hoping that we'll have a solid core of guys that are going to GROW over the next few years. Now, there are certainly others on this site who would like to see Boldin added. I am not one of them, as his salary not to mention what we'd have to give up to the Cardinals is too much for a team that is not a serious Super Bowl contender yet. I also think that the Cards will eventually resign him. Plax is a guy we MIGHT look at. Although, you have to question if he fits as a "Parcells guy." Him not taking the deal (three months next offseason) that they offered really gives any potential suitor question marks (much like the Giants last season) about his availability this year. I don't know that there are any other free agents worth bringing in at this time. Lets see how the young guys progress from here to the middle of training camp.
Its cool that we have someone whose relatively well known on the site, welcome. I've been hoping we'd have a chance to get Boldin but it seems that ship has sailed.
Relatively well known? Come on man. Not a host in this town who's known more nationally than me (Outside LeBatard)...LOL!! I think the Dolphins and Giants are taking similar approaches with their wideout situations going into camp. Both teams are loaded with young receivers (both drafted 2 this year) and both are hoping they emerge. Exactly what Paul13 said. I agree.
Indeed, welcome aboard. No one comes to mind, we already have a logjam at Wr, unless there is an unexpected cut, where would they fit in? I've been meaning to ask, what does resigning JT mean to the 2009 Dolphins? Are we trying to make a push, or is it a bone thrown to the fans or what?
I think every team would welcome a guy that gets to the quarterback. Obviously Taylor is not the player he was when he won the NFL Defensive Player of the Year a few years ago but he's also probably a little better than he looked in Washington last year. Either way Padre.....you're right it's a nice little PR move for the fans and quite frankly it's not costing the Dolphins anything anyway. Snyder paid for the "lousy" Taylor last year. Parcells won't have to eat that if Taylor is really done. I like the move. Although I'm not sure how much of a "football" impact #99 will make.
I like Hakeem too Sick. Just a real young corp right now with Manningham, Smith, Hixon and 2 rookies in Barden and Hakeem. Giants really like Hixon though. That comes from someone close.
Plaxico. I dont value the WR position real highly when I have to draft or trade for them because I see them as a final piece but one you can win without (see for reference: first pats team to win, 86, 1990 NYG, etc) but if I can get a stud like Burress for just cash as opposed to giving up picks for Boldin or Edwards, then it works. Plus Burress is also a hoss in the redzone meaning he fills two needs. I doubt any move at WR is likely though after drafting two. I think Taylor's impact will be similar to Trace Armstrong's a few years ago. Say he plays 40-50% of the snaps, I still think hes the 2nd best pass rusher we have and should be god for 8-10 sacks. I think JT's approach is totally different then in last year in camp. He sacrificed 7 million to be here. He started training for the offseason program before he was officially here. Jt wanted to be here. I think we will see the best JT we have seen in a couple of years. he may only have 1-2 good years left in him but hes playing for a championship and now is his chance to make a case for the HOF. He is the active sack leader, a former DPOY with an already impressive resume....1-2 more great seasons could get him over the top. You left out Sinorcie Moss and the fact they still have David Tyree. Someone good will get cut. About a month before the draft there was a rumor we tried to trade for Hixon for a 5th, NYG wanted I believe a 3rd if memory serves me right.
And we ended up with Pat White out of the trade, the lynchpin of the Wildcat, that opens up a whole different can o' worms though. Ross is a PT Barnum, JT's #99 Jersey will sell once again, long time fans in a down economy will still come out to see him, and long forgot, but M Vick's Jeresy was #1 in sales, P White's may push for that sales mark, and fill up the stands as well.. Art Blank didn't toss 100 million bucks at the guy because he was "efficient", Ross and Tuna knows if White pans out more people will come out to the ballpark.. First of all, thanks for answering my questions that is rather nice of you. Secondly, IMO JT will do just fine, he's healthy, second of all, he has the best supporting cast that he's had since 2002, thirdly.. If one had a choice, work in warm weather, or make slightly more scratch working in colder weather?
Boik 14- Excellent post. Agreed on all fronts. Tyree is coming off the injury and Moss is yet to show anything on a consistent basis (plus he's always hurt too) but they are both on the roster. I agree about wideout. Made them point on the air a thousand times during my fights with LeBatard about T.O. I saw the Giants win two Super Bowls with Baker, Ingram, Manuel and McConkey as their best wide receivers! (Granted they did have Bavaro at tight end) Padre31- The "Pat White Experiment" will be interesting to watch. And at the end of the day Jason Taylor's home. Right where he should be.
Welcome. You have chosen the best site anywhere. The guys and gals on here are top notch, informative and family oriented. Relax, enjoy and welcome to the family. I'm thephins cheerleader!!
Thanks bro. Injury or not tyree can play on my team anytime. Guy is a beast on special teams and a solid fourth receiver type who always seems to make plays when he is asked to. I remember those nyg teams and those were the standard for any grind it out team.
