It was a bad pass, but didn't Bess also slip. Guys He's shown flashes of good play, this team made a heck of a comeback! Young team which is only going to get better!
The best of them still do it but it did not make me proud that he did it today. It was a very bad pass to seal the game. The refs did not help the team today either but I don't think its far fetched to say that Henne should have just thrown the ball away. Trying to force feed the ball is a mistake that he's tended to make since college.
Not to make excuses for the pick, but their nose tackle caused him to alter his mechanics on the release at the absolute last split second.
Are you kidding, We lost and the playoffs are done. These guys get paid like winners and today they should give their checks back.
Two teams the Bills and the Titans beat this crap team wait till Houston puts things in perspective. You are what your record says you are and at 7/7 that makes you a bad team.
Bro need for the foul language. We lost our starting NT, QB, one of our RB's, and our corner. We had no business still being in the game today. We played two undefeated teams very tough, and should of won. Yes there are changes that need to be made, but we are not a very bad team. We are a decent team right now that needs a another successful FA period, and a very good draft and we will be better for it. I love the fire that Henne has. More experience for him, and more work on the touch passes, and he will be awesome. We need a number 1 WR, and TE for him.
Regarding someone calling the Titans inferior, I'd have to say I agree and here's why: We controlled TOP. We turned the ball over 4 times (3 times inside Titans 35) We had more total yards We were away Turning the ball over 4 times and still almost winning the game away from home against a team that won 6 of 7. I take a lot of good out of this game. Had Vince Young started all season, they'd probably have 10 wins right now and we took that team to the wire away and would've won had we turned the ball over 1 less time. I'm excited for next year.
Well, the season is not over as of yet, but here are some things to consider heading into 2010: -Pats have gotten younger, and they have a slew of draft picks -Jets are developing a young Qb and young Rb -Bills are more than likely still going to be a mess no young Qb they trust, bad Oline, just signed Stroud to a huge contract and he mailed it in this year. -Dolphins are in a race with the Jets to knock off the Patriots, next season should see an even more intense rivalry between the two teams. Who develops faster, Henne or Sanchez? As for 09 Phins, in some ways Sparano has done a better job with this unit than he did in 08, we basically had to remake our offense into a passing one with 7 games to go in the season with a Rookie Qb and a group of #2 and #3 types of Wr and one good but 32 yr old Rb. Next two games should be fun, we aren't dead yet, win out and see what happens.
Your right he should have and as it's been said if he learns from this we'll be a great team soon. The standard of refereeing has gone down but thats not suprising bearing in mind the NFL changes the rules every bl**dy year - but I'll save that for another thread! I am proud of the team for showing guts to bring it back to OT and disapointed with the result.. as everyone is - I was just trying to put a positive spin on things not have a pop at anyone. Hey-ho it's Monday lets draw a line under it all focus in Houston.
He had Bess on the last pass, just overthrew him. Good decision, terrible pass. Henne had some good and bad yesterday. He'll bounce back though. He always does.
Agreed, we have come along away and we will only get better as the young guys get more experience and as we add more pieces to the puzzle. I said we'd get between 7-10 wins before the season started, I would like 2 more though.
I haven't watched replays, but it looked like the middle pressure altered Henne's follow-thru on that last throw. If your follow-thru is interrupted, usually the ball goes high. I don't think Henne had a horrible game, personally. He made some critical mistakes and misses. But he also made some huge throws to help bring us back. Certainly not a great game, but I don't think it was necessarily terrible.
man was I drunk and stupid yesterday, apologies to all on justin yesterday any way here was my point yesterday. we are at the threshold of being a great team, but arent there. we didnt fold yesterday, we fought, but to be that team that finishes, we should hhave had that sense of now thruout not just down 18. we were playing great til a mistake and then we panicked and played on our heels, aggression risks big plays, rather than accepting that and making plays ourselves, we reverted to bend no break again til late in game. I just knew the way we were playing that we were playing uphill all day and had been since we scored last td vs Jax. we scored a moral victory, but lost, we again proved mental toughness, but showed we are an offseason away from serious contention and that we arent there yet. i to am proud of the team, they wont be 1yr wonders, their success is real and sustaining. Henne is star inn the making, mistakes are par for the course in situ like yesterday when you are inexp. it is hard waiting, but we will reach the destinatiion
Henne played well. That one interception in the red zone on the pass to Ricky wasn't a good play call. I thought Henning called a horrible game, IMHO. In OT, why did we pass pass pass? It was like we only had 3 minutes left in the game.
I hate to be the super optimist here but take this in consideration. When we lost to the Bills a few weeks back everyone in this forum was down in the dumps and basically threw in the towel, "our season is over bla bla bla. The following week came by and we beat the pats and then the jags. Yes if we would have won we would be in a different place controlling our own destiny. We are in the middle of a pack that can all still get in. There are 2 games ahead of us that if we win and with a little help from other teams we can still get in. If we loose next week its done. We still have a chance to get in. I'm not telling people what they should do or how they should feel but we should not give up on our team until it is really over. Did anyone think Denver would loose to Oakland?? Well that helps us, the Steelers back in it, that helped us as well. I feel this season will end in Miami fighting for a spot with the Steelers just like we did last year against the Jets. I do not know if we will win or loose that game but we have a crazy two weeks ahead of us. I will end this post with this, for 3 weeks straight we shut out teams in the 4th quarter being one of our biggest problems earlier in the season. We are getting better, the next to weeks are huge and everyone should be behind our team.
After winning against the Pats and Jags I forgot we were rebuilding, there is no doubt that with RB Ferg Allen playing we make the playoffs. The NFL it's a war of attrition next draft should provide the depth this team needs.
Yup, and a site that tracks the odds puts that at 56.3%....win both and its better than 50/50..(slightly) but darn thats pretty cool.
i was at this game. the o-line was not as solid as it has been lately. henne led this team to an amazing comeback but just couldnt get it done in OT. i was sitting right in front of the hartline catch and the fasano catch, those two plays made the game real special. oh and i love vontae but he got taken advantage of all day.
