Just for kicks, if you were the Bills head coach, how would you beat the Jets this coming up weekend? For me, I look at the Bills offensive weaponry and wonder why they are not more productive, that would be the first place to start. Fred Jackson and Lynch are two good running backs, their Oline is huge, but does not pass block well, so why force them to pass block very much? Simply pound the ball.
distract rex ryan with a giant tub of pudding. Then close the lid when he jumps in it bugs bunny style.
psshaw...that'll never work, like Wile E Coyote Rex Ryan is: I've yet to understand how the Bills can have 5 Olineman that are huge, two good Running Backs, and they cannot run the ball well at all? I partially blame trying to run the no huddle (Dick Jauron..not genius) but heck power football is something every offensive lineman knows how to do..
Now THAT would be funny! In my gut, I think the Bills have a shot, but I don't think Jauron is a good enough coach to pull it off.
Well for starters, if you are the Jills, you hope the beating Miami inflicted still hurts. I then do indeed work pounding the ball early and often. Even before our game, he JESTs had not been stopping the run very well. Jenkins is really the only run stuffer they have up front. At the first sign of the run working, I start looking for Turdell and hope he can hold onto the ball. Although Revis is what he is, and will shut down Lee Evans, the Jest have NOBODY at the other corner spot, and it will indeed be a mismatch regardless. All that said, I worry more aabout the Jills defense stopping anybody in a puke green jersey myself
Hey worked for these guys: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fw-EOI9WNw"]YouTube - Patriots Cheat[/ame]
Well, the Bills may have taken their first step: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2009/10/14/bills-dumping-the-no-huddle-offense/ Interesting, I always thought they could just sugar huddle or run their two minute offense if they wanted the element of surprise/no substitutions. Their Oline is still a shambles though, Edwards needs to take 3 step drops and this is another sign for the Bills: So they are getting healthy at the right time as well.
They really need a MLB, they are starting a street FA MLB in Chris Draft. He has been a starter in the NFL, I suppose he will have to do... Their defense has decent Cb's and decent DE's, that is the strength of that defense.
This is an old commercial here in Canada. Pro Line is a legal means of gambling, controlled by the government. Their slogan is "Because anything can happen". [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5x28ndoqKGY"]YouTube - Pro line commercial (football drug)[/ame]
Depends, the Bills commit a ton of false start penalties, maybe dropping the no huddle will improve their fortunes.
Why PS??? Are you loosing confidence in your team??? We are talking about Jauron and the Bills now, are we not???
Sucotash aside, the Jets Wr corps is now further depleted: http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2009/10/ny_jets_wide_receiver_jerricho_3.html And irrc, Bills Cb Terrence McGee did a great job on Randy Moss. Hmm, well the Jets are down 2 Wr, the Bills are getting their starting Safety and MLB back as well, and the Bills added a familiar name to play RT: Meredith is actually a good Tackle prospect who slid due to questions about motivation, he will make his first start on Sunday, if he plays well then the Bills chances increase.
The Bills offense is pathetic and there is a lot of turmoil in Buffalo with the fans calling for Dick Jaurons firing. No way the Bills beat the Jets....they suck
Not losing faith. The Jets have a track record of playing like crap in bad weather games - and games a 4PM. I'm just a paranoid Jet fan though, so what do I know? We should beat the Bills handily. Posted via Mobile Device
I don't see any way for the Bills to win honestly. I just can't imagine it. Their offensive line is too bad for starters.
Hmmm: 30 mph wind gusts, cold rain, and the Nacho's performance has been getting worse every week, it will be fun to see how the SoCal player deals with a nasty Northeast Sunday evening game, the meadowlands wind swirls and knocks balls down. And the Jets are down two Wr to begin with... I'll grant the Bills are crappy, I'd also say things are lining up to make this game much more competitive than it otherwise would be.
The weather was terrible in the finale last season vs. New England and it didn't help the Bills a bit. They are horrible, I would be shocked if they won this game.
I wouldn't be, Sanchez with decreasing performances each week in his first cold weather game with the wind and rain vs a Bills d that just got two starters back.
Color me shocked. The Bills gave them every opportunity but they just insisted on losing yesterday. Maybe the Jets are not who we thought they were.
Well...sort of...Sanchez (the Nacho) did have a bad game, but the Jets defense, that "vaunted Super Bowl D" was really exposed, they still blitz Ryan flippin' Fitzpatrick and never sacked him, this behind a a line that has one starter with more than 10 career starts, basically an Oline of Rooks, Journeymen and dudes off the street held the Jets to..1 sack. The Bills "D" easily outplayed the Jets "D" as in no contest.
So could the last three weeks for the Jets be the NFL catching up to Sanchez and Ryan after seeing actual game tape on them or in Ryan's case coaching style?
Both, and bad weather effecting Sanchez more than anyone could have guessed it would have. The Jets "D" at the end of the day are void of anyone who can rush the passer making Ryan's blitz packages ineffective. Take out Kris Jenkins and the Jets have some issues. Wouldn't surprise if the Jets played well against the Raiders with Sanchez coming back to CA, but long term they have issues.
I strangely remember Jets fans mocking a certain former Jets now Miami QB for not being able/having the arm strength to win in the winter weather in NY...but I thought Sanchez was going to be their savior? It looks like they may have that situation all over again but with other intangibles in question. I myself liked Sanchez coming out of college but never gave much thought to weather being a factor. If it is he is in a terrible division for him since the Bills and Pats away games will kill him if they come in colder/winter weather. Add that to playing in NY in the winter and any other away games in rough winter weather. The only divisional away games he may have his best success in will be Miami where the weather favors him. I also agree with you on his return to California helping him but honestly if the Raiders can hold McNabb in check they could Sanchez too. I think the Jets will win but after the Bills loss I am nowhere near as sold on it as I was before Sunday. I'm not saying Sanchez is a bust, actually nowhere near saying that, but what I am saying is that being a sub-par QB in bad weather will kill a QB in the northeast. Only time will tell if he can correct it and since this was his first bad weather game chances are he will learn from it and improve. As of now there have to be some worries for Jets fans though.
I think Sanchez's learning curve was elongated now with his exposure to poor weather. I'm not sure what he will develop into eventually, I suspect he will be a good Qb, not the "elite Super Bowl Cailbur" Qb that most Jets fans had hoped he would become. 1 yr starter, 16 starts and never having played in a game under 55 degrees is not a recipe for success this season.
