If I was a betting man, I would say the pick is Jake Locker

We need a RB and Oline fixes before a QB.

the website has nothing to do with Jeff Ireland, Stephen Ross or Tony Sparano. They're the ones who make the call on draft day.

I would say it's WAY too early to know as to who Miami wants. There's going to be a lot of smoke and misinformation being thrown out there for the next few months.

We do? Oh yeah, because that worked out well when we took Ronnie instead of a QB. And when we took Jake Long instead of Matt Ryan. Nothing against Ronnie or Jake, by any means. But a team isn't fixed until it finds a QB. You can't win without a QB. All the other pieces of an NFL team right down to the defense work better when you have a real QB. That's step 1. Not step 13. If we keep trying to get the other stuff right first, we'll never have a QB.

i disagree. i think if we had matt ryan and didn't have jake long, matt ryan would be injured and worthless to us. marino had richmond webb.

As adamprez2003 says, Carey graded out quite nicely.

and recent superbowl history is rife with winners who had subpar left tackles.

Keying in on LT is like building Fort Knox with no gold, and an unlocked back door. You've got nothing to protect, and the protection isn't ironclad anyway.

Thats a negative. Look where that philosophy has gotten us over the years.

Im not sold on Locker by any means, but Im certainly not against taking him with pick 15.

Actually, its Chris Long who started the whole cornfed lineman thing.

I cant take credit for it, despite the fact I more or less adopted it as my own. But, Chris Long was the first person refered to on these sites as "cornfed" by the person who dubbed the phrase.

Its in what is still my all time favorite post. Pure comedy gold. It was another of many by one of the handful of us who urged the FO to select Matt Ryan. The line was....................... "Great. We drafted another cornfed linebacker. Super Bowl here we come!!!! Get real."

Of course, thats where the "get real" phrase I use for my series of "Get Real" posts comes from too.

Respectfully disagree. How quickly we forget a lot of people figured the Falcons to be in even worse shape than we were going into the 2008 season. Amazing what a talented rookie QB did for their problems. They found a way to make it work because Matt Ryan had the talent to make it work. The same way Chad Pennington worked wonders for our team. It's all about the QB. People keep suggesting a QB is only a worthy investment for a team that is already good. That's crap. A good QB makes the team. It's not the other way around.

how little credit you give to Michael Turner. Or, ya know, the best TE of all time in Tony Gonzalez. Oh and Roddy White rising to an elite level that he never showed before.

Matt Ryan has had some help.

(im being sarcastic. He had a lot)

you put Matt ryan on this team in 2008, with Ted Ginn and Camarillo as the starting wrs, Justin Peele as the TE and the oft-injury Ronnie Brown and he flounders big time.
