Just thought I'd share this interesting video. Pretty cool. http://www.youtube.com/v/MlqLU_tYx7A&hl=en_GB&fs=1&hd=1
I was stationed in Keflavik ,Iceland for 18 months.Very stark yet beautiful in a primeval way.It was formed out of the Mid Atlantic ridge out of continuous undersea volcanic activity.Very young geologically speaking. These eruptions that have disruped large parts of Europe are not new.In the Middle ages there was a big eruption which was the primary cause of mass starvation throughout Europe. Another earlier one was the cause of a mini-ice age.
I don't know about 18 months, but ever since taking up photography I'd love to spend some time there, so beautiful.
And the ladies are fine and starving for attention as I discovered much to my joy.The men spend a lot of time drinking and fishing.
Check out the new series Life lmeister. Just as good. Have to wait until June for the BBC version with David Attenborough though. I couldn't stand the us/discovery version which has Oprah as the narrator. AFter 20 minutes I stopped, deleted them from my TIVO, and will just wait. Plus documentaries that don't have a british narrator sound funny.
I have a love/hate thing going on with that volcano, since it caused me to be delayed coming out of Dubai. I had to reroute through Beijing in the opposite direction. It made flying from Chicago to DC seem like a trip to the quickie mart. The good thing is now I have $1000 dollars in coupons for United.
