I really loved how they moved Tanny around the pocket today, and what was even better was the use of the pump fakes. He has some really good wheels. Not bad balance either... Uploaded with ImageShack.us
I was one of those who questioned the Dolphins taking Tannehill in the first round. So far Tannehill has proved that he has the arm and the overall ability to play in the NFL. He still has a long way to go, but he has certainly been a far better player at this stage of his career then I thought he would be. I am happy to see him playing well and I hope he just continues to improve on a week to week basis. I would love nothing more than for Tannehill to prove me 100% wrong, by him becoming the next great Dolphin QB.
He also got the S**t smacked out of him a couple of times today though. Good thing he's young, if that was Henne on one of those hits, he'd be in the stretcher. Chad would've been put on IR if he was on the sideline watching that hit.
Awesome pick. Thanks. That was a great throw. The awareness to extend his leg at the last second so his knee didn't touch was impressive, let alone completing the pass.
He seemed a little reluctant to throw the ball away at times. I like his moxie, but he needs to learn that throwing the ball away when everything goes to hell isnt the worst thing to do.
You sir win at life. What's funny is that the throw probably was a lot more accurate that 90% of Tebows passes from a clean pocket Tannehill has a better lean than Michael Jackson ever did.
Playing Wr made him tougher. But yeah, we don't need him to keep getting the snot knocked out of him...
Roll out right, or left, don't matter..we drafted it, better use it...really liked his run in the beginning of the game where he tucked and took off, that's what I don't want him to forget..
Yeah, he got away with one on that challenge early in the game but he did throw it away a couple of times today. Hopefully he learns that, in most cases, he will get another chance and get rid of it when he should.
That throw was AMAZING! I thought he was just throwing it away. Which BTW would have been a Great play! But the kid completed it!
now imagine him in a couple of seasons.. bulked up a bit... So glad we drafted him instead of signing an Alex Smith. The 49ers won tonight but Smith just takes some awful sacks. 49ers can't win the SB with him at qb, they just can't.
And you know, even though Miami hasn't exactly used it to their advantage yet, you can see that defenses are aware of Ryan's running ability. Oakland had a spy on him for a good portion of the game today, and Houston didn't do much in the form of rushing the passer last week as they didn't want to flush Ryan out of the pocket. Today, as Jake was getting beat by Matt Shaugnessy, I saw a great opportunity for the zone read. Shaugnessy was crashing hard on the inside zone play a few times in the second quarterback. Miami could have came back with that same play and had Ryan read that end. Great opportunity for a big play there, and Miami did not take advantage of it.
Sure they did. They had a 65 yard rushing TD to their left side. That was great vision by a great running back. Lack of a safety containing and pushing it inside. We totally took advantage of that. You are cracking me up dude.
Man dont get me excited about that Qb zone read option on our team, I'm all over that...He did some at TAM.. he has unique qb athleticism, built like a prototype, moves differently.. Needs to strengthen his legs some, that honey dip he goes home to is gonna have to lay off him a bit this offseason.
Yes, he planned to get rid of it all along but be was fumblin/bumblin it as he was getting hit. He got away with one there because it could have easily been called the other way. He should have got rid of it a couple of steps earlier, which could have drawn a flag if he got hit, and if not it would have saved him from taking a beating. I don't mind the guy getting his jersey dirty but do it smart.
love how they used tannehill today, i wish the oline would have protected him in the second quarter like they did in the second half would have had even better numbers
You can tell that even when Ryan knows he should throw it away he doesn't want to. It's almost as if he wants to wait until the absolute last second in case something comes open. In a way that is good but in a way it's very dangerous as well.
I saw something I hadn't seen from our qbs in awhile I think. RT having a play fall apart on him and still flipping the ball out to make a play. The pickup was something like 4 yards but it was still positive.
man pouncey was ballin out there for the 2nd week in a row,i could be wrong and maybe someone can confirm but the block he made on the 2nd level on McClain on reggie´s 65 yarder, not a really physical hard block but just to trip him up a little might have sealed the outside, the S giving it away sure helped too, but if McClain is not getting blocked he might have hit bush from the side
