Ok i know what your saying hes horrible at game managment and all the other stuff but i do belive if he hires a OC he can trust this team can win 4 of those 6 games we lost by 3. Did you guys see the emotion cam showed after the play and everyone thought he wasnt emotional and in the postgame show he was jumping in the locker room with all the players heck even jt gave him the game ball everyone thought jt hated cam but my point is with a OC to take the pressure off cam i know things would go better and get half are starters back from injuries and the 2008 draft class too but please fire the special teams coach.

Cam needs a chance to install his system and get his players in. Get Mularkey out and fire the special teams coach as well as the team doctor and Mueller. Get Atlanta's GM, and lets see what develops.

In one of the other "fire Cameron" threads, I made the point that Jimmy Johnson's first year with the Cowboys, he went 1-15 and pointed out how everyone remembers what the Cowboys went on to achieve. Everyone was still up in arms, saying yes but at least Jimmy Johnson won one game his first year.

Now I wonder how many people will recant and say that maybe Cam Cameron does deserve a chance.

Besides, I'm tired of the constant inconsistency. Just remember, the more things change, the more they stay the same. So changing to another coach will still result in the Dolphins remaining in the bowels ofhe NFL.

Cam will be a different man with a fresh team of starters instead of back-ups. I would immediately, and I don’t mean pooch, deep kick special teams crotch Keith Armstrong all the way out the end of the building.

i say we keep him too. as much as it hurts me to say it after this year. but realistically folks.. look at all our injuries, the lack of talent in the secondary(before AND after injuries), and then just the plain bad luck. but remember back to weeks 1-4 when we had trent green in there, and when ronnie brown was just starting to roll... remember the flashes of brilliance our offence showed BEFORE all the injuries, BEFORE this team, especially the offensive line had even had a chance to grow together. had our opening day roster been able to stay on the field through this season, i bet were at least a 5 win team. sure thats nothing to brag about, but come on... thats not bad for a first year coach, with the mess of a team he inherited.

give him another year. they had a pretty solid draft last year, lets give him and randy another shot thisyear. probably make a pickup or two in free agency as well, and with another year under the same system(finally!) lets see what this team can do. if after 5 games, were 0-5 again.. then yes... give him the boot.

what have we got to loose? lets face it, were not a team thats going to contend for at least another 3 to 5 years. so why not give stability a chance for once.

Guys, be reasonable.Given the level of talent on this roster plus the injuries even Saint Shula couldn't have had a winning season this year.Is Cam the answer? I don't know and neither does anybody else. But you can't keep changing coaches every year or two and expect to contend.I think we had a much better draft this year than we've had in years and hopefully with a good draft next year we might win 6-8 games next year then contend in '09.But Cam and Randy should have at least one more year regardless of the final outcome of this season.

I agree. Landry went 0-14 his first season in Dallas! The list goes on and on. Walsh & Knoll also had horrendous first seasons. The key is to get a coach in with the knowlege, confidence and stick with them. Another chancge would just set us back another few years Imo.

Let Cam build this team from the inside out like he stated from day one. Let the guy work.

    Way to offer in-depth analysis.

If he's incompetent and clueless, what does that make you? Or do you think that you know more about football than he does?

It makes me someone who isn't being asked to be an NFL head coach. And yes, unfortunately, I believe I do know more about football than Cam Cameron.

Yeah I agree. The injuries just completely derailed the offense. Defense was hanging by a thread and then injuries hit it too. The offense showed great flashes early this season and I too thought it was just a matter of time before it clicked, then the injuries happened. To me he's the best coach we've had here in some time. I think next season will bear that out. Once he gets the players to run his sytem this will be a playoff team

I agree with most of what you are saying, but only time will tell how good of a HC he will be. As you stated, he needs at least another season. I like the fact that we have an offensive minded coach now, but Cam needs to find a DC that will keep the fire lit under the other side of the team.

Seriously thinki about it if we just had a couple of healthy guys and someone to take some pressure off cam i know we would win those close games we lost. is it the same with capers though?

  16. Heres the thing for me. Im not opposed to keeping him around for another season and see if he grows as a Head Coach.

The excuses I hear though for our bad season could very possibly lead right to his front steps.

1 He choose not to hire an OC

2 Why do we have so many injuries? Lack of good off season conditioning or bad luck?

3 Dom was already hired before he got here so he was stuck with him, but how much did Dom have to do with our current Defense? Cuts and new players ,taken or passed on, in the draft. Did Dom tell Cam he needed more to work with or did he tell him he had enough to get through this season.

4 Is Ginn going to turn out to be the best pick talent wise available to us at the number 9 spot?

5 Is Beck going to mature into a starter level QB before he is in his 30's?

6 Alot of what we are experiencing is due to salary cap issues that they basically fixed this season, now that we have money to spend and draft picks to use are we going to see some real improvments made and who gets the credit or blame here, Cam or Randy?

7 Cam can not really say this is his team yet, so he can lay some of the responsibility off on things already in place here, that he did not have the power to change, and I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. He has been quoted as saying he belives a team is built from the center out so I am curious what areas we will see him focusing on this next post season if he is still a part of our team.

Agreed. 2007 I'll give a pass for starting out discombobulated. New system and all that. Next year, we have to come out from week 1 ready to play some serious ball. In 2007 we addressed the offense. Satele, Ginn, Booker, Mauia all look capable of being good players. In 2008 the defense needs help. Capers or whoever needs to get some infusion of talent on the defensive side
I would like to see Armstrong fired and a new offensive coordinator hired

Bottom line, Cameron's success is going to hinge on getting a good QB. I dont know if Beck is the answer but Cameron better make the right call on that one. If he has any doubts I think he has to draft Ryan or Brohm. If he doesnt, Beck better turn into Brees very quickly

Open the checkbook for Cowher or Schottenheimer. Lets quit these experiments and get this franchise SOLIDIFIED for the first time since the Big Don laid the whistle down. Cam may be a good guy, but after what we have seen so far, do we really want to give him 2-3 more years to "see" if he is going to be The Guy?

Cowher and Schottenheimer have proven they can step in and build a team back into a contender, and both are guys that are loyal to their jobs, you sign them and you have a Coach that you don't have to worry about their abilities or their loyalty.

I freely admit I am not qualified to be an NFL head coach. If only Cameron would admit that he's not qualified either.

He's a helluva lot more qualified that you choose to give him credit for. I think you were mistaken and thought "miracle worker" was part of his job description. NOBODY could have turned this mess around in one season. To think they could is pure insanity.

I didn't expect anyone to make us a playoff team. I expected 4-6 wins. A competent coach could have eaked out at least 3 by this point. I am not saying those extra wins would have accomplished anything...the point is, the point people like you consistently ignore in your attempt to sound pithy...is that Cameron doesn't get the most out of his players. If he underachieves with this bunch, why should we believe he won't underachieve when he gets more talented players?

I'm sorry, you are right. I can't believe how Cam squandered this season will ALL of the talent on this team. And damn him for injuring all of those players as well.

You have got to be kidding me.

You took all of the seriousness out of this upon your first assertion that you knew more than Cam so don't give me that BS. When you want to get serious, then you will take this season for what it is/was.....the first year of a rebuilding and THEN we can have a legit conversation.

No, but they have proven they can get it done. With Cam you are rolling the dice, and if he stays 2-3 more years, and still shows he doesnt have it, what then? This is a VERY RARE situation you have here, 2 PROVEN coaches are available, 2 guys that have unquestionable character and loyalty, 2 guys you dont have to worry will jump ship after 2 years looking for greener pastures. I have nothing against Cam, I just dont think he is the guy, I said that when his name first came up. With Cowher and Schottenheimer, there was NO DOUBT who was in charge, they ran their teams smart, disciplined and effecient, and guys WANTED to come play for them. That is what we are missing, there is no draw, no incentive for the good players to come here, we are an unknown commodity, no stability. Cowher and Schottenheimer instantly add that stability. my .2cents

To be fair, you never know what you are getting when a coach comes here regardless of past success (see Jimmy Johnson). You can't shut the door on Cam before he gets started. After the first season he has had, I question neither his character or his loyalty as it would have been all to easy to jump and run (especially since ANY pasture has been greener than ours this season). I think we have to give him at least one more year to get the players that will fit his scheme, the staff that will best support this team and the talent to implement his scheme. Even Marty and Bill wouldn't have stood a chance with the mess we have seen this season. Rebuilding takes time.....I'm willing to give Cam another year.....if we don't see improvement, then I would have no problem canning him.

The best argument for keeping Cam is the coach we should have hired when Saban came aboard -- Brad Childress. Look at what he has the Vikings doing in season 2 of his time there. It takes two years to really see what a coach is made of and what sort of effect he is having on the team. I don't have a ton of confidence in Cam, but I think there is some chance he'll have this team going in the right direction next year if he stays. I think there is virtually no chance any other coach will have things turned around until 2009.

You both make good points, and i agree with some of what you guys say, but Cowher and Schotty will not be there in 2 years, and if Cam is not the answer, we could very well find ourselves picking another fish from the barrell.

First of all, it's no BS to say that MANY fans know more than Cam Cameron. Either that, or he was lying to us and the owner when he insisted that this team wasn't rebuilding.
