Woo Hoo )) Its smaller community college, but its still a college. Anybody who knows me, knows I went a long way from having a 1.4 GPA after sophomore year of high school, making every possible wrong decision on my life, to a Senior with a 3.2 currently. I plan on attending it for two years, and then transferring to FIU, thats what my sister did and now she has a freakin 3.95 and getting her masters Im doing paperwork right so, so im 90% positive thats it is going to be a free ride for these two years. Hopefully.
amazing job bro! take advntage of every thing you have infront of you!!!! you will do great!!! congrats!
Absolutely AWESOME brother. Took me till my 30's to learn how to do College the right way. Glad to hear you got it turned around much quicker. Always time ahead of you to catch up on "Extra-activities" get the important ones done ASAP. Let us know how things are progressing
Age: 13 Someone is BSing la la la.... Awesome man. Congratulations. I hope to be in that same position ( cue the sex jokes) in a year as well.
Thank you everybody for kind words. Hopefully I will figure what the hell i want to do with my life sometime soon.
what are you looking at man? there are a plethora of people with different occupations on here. I'm sure most would be happy to tell you what their job involves.
ON the other hand. When I started college at UNM right out of High School (That was in '84 for Alen) I was SO into becoming a Forest Ranger (Seriously..no joking). It was my entire life. I lived it breathed crapped it.... Good thing I wasnt serious about school, cause I would be pretty miserable doing that now. What am I trying to tell you Mariok?... Not sure, but eventually you will figure out exactly what life's path has in store for you. Till that time comes, go to school, learn as much as you can about as many things your brain will soak up...and most important, stop and enjoy it all brother . Those memories will never ever leave you regardless.
Thats the problem, no idea haha. Im a pretty good debater, people think i should be a lawyer, but that is tooo much school, and if I will screw it up, or quit halfway, I will be done. Im not really interested in that. I guess im a pretty good leader, and I have managing experience, I liked it, but that is alot, alot of work for very average money. Im not trying to come of as a cocky SOB who is loking for a CEO job, nothing less, but I just dont see the manager position being my final destination.
well you can always do your basics till you figure it out. but you know, if you want to know about engineering degrees I have a descent knowledge of it and I am a computer scientist. So any questions just ask.
congrats! good for you. and in the immortal words of the legendary Faber College Dean, Vernon Wormer; "Fat, drunk, and stupid is no way to go through life son."
Thanks man. Yeah, that was the plan, I figured i would get a better idea of what I want to do withing the first two years. And engineering and computer sciences are awesome! The only problem is that im terrified of "that field" because me and math dont get along well at all
I never knew you were a computer scientist. What field IT, programmer, networking, or what? That was my first major before I became a total bore. Anyway on to the point of thread congrats Mari0k. College is a time you will never forget but make sure to keep your head straight because I have seen too many people just piss away their college opportunities. Also feel free to PM me at anytime and I will give any advice I can, I don't know if my advice is ever helpful but I like to try at least. Once again congrats man and I am sure you will do great.
well don't ever be afraid to fail bro. the road not taken by robert frost, read it, learn it, live it. Good luck man.
Great work man Keep you're head on straight during college (doesn't mean that you shouldnt make time for fun and exercise) and you'll do great in life. Glad to see you've turned things around, keep it up.
i do software right now man. I am looking into other things though. I am not to sure if software is for me..................... I like some of it , but the ****ing paperwork kills me.
Its not about being afraid of failing, it's a simple matter of not knowing what I want to do, and knowing what I don't. I do know that I dont think that engineer or a computer scientist is for me, neverless tho, those are great job. Its a matter of finding something I like.
Cool stuff. Like Mari0k I didn't have the brains/passion for the math and plus I was more of the hardware junkie so I just switched majors and went a different way all together. It takes a smart person to work in that field that is for sure.
Grats man. Make sure you talk to a counselor to talk about transferring to FIU, that way you make sure you take the right classes and dont waste time on stuff that wont help you.
The best advice Mari0k is to go in as undeclared and just take all sorts of different courses in areas that interest you and trust me things will work out.
Congrats brother. If you need a reference in 2 years if you decide to move to a new school, I will be happy to write one.
Congrats!! Way to turn it around just goes to show you its never to late to buckle down and get to work!!
Thanks. All these respnoses really DO mean alot, thank you people )) Are you really working on your phd?
I thought you had finished? By the way I am starting that long journey in the fall, so I may be PMing for advice.
