Woot! MacBook White. Also got a wireless router. I can enjoy another spot in the house on the internet then the one before. This mac is amazing. I used mac during my training in broadcasting school. I love it then. Love it now. Its so smooth, incredible.....and sleek looking! I may be doing my show tonight....but i am not certain, i will keep everyone posted....its valentines day afterall, so i may just enjoy time with the family. I love this computer!!! I am officially not a PC user anymore
I have the older black model. Reliable as anything I've ever owned even though you can't play squat on it. Only 3 Macbooks were ever in need of repair at the UCLA Store when I was working and those were only because the owners were absolute tech-morons. I'm sure you won't follow suit.
Good choice brother. I have had many PCs -- all eventually died, even when running Linux. I have also owned several Macs -- all of them still run as advertised. More expensive? Yes but worth it, considering that you don't need to replace your computer every 2 years.
Running Linux doesn't change your bus speed or optimize the IBM (PC) design flaws. While I agree that Linux is better that Windows, it is not better than the Unix GUI that OS X provides.
bro i could have gotten a nice dell for 700 bucks....i got this macbook for 999 (with my employee discount) i saved 59 dollars....if your going to chunk out 800 bucks on a laptop....made by dell....software by windows...why not get a mac with all the software? amazing sleekness and awesome quality...for a few hundred more? i dunno...it was a easy choice for my wife and i....i used it in broadcasting school....and i pointed out to my wife every movie released now-a-days the people are using macs haha.....she says "they must be good then" hook line and sinker
heard that guy on the radio once....said he always has people yell "yeah go PC" "i have a pc!!!!" and hes like "guys.....i do commercials FOR mac....they sign my paychecks...i am a mac...i play a pc on tv" so in reality....the "pc guy" just gave me a thumbs up over ichat
Macs suck, IMO. The only reason why they have such a low crash rate is because people won't make viruses for them because so few people have them. They're a compatibility hassle too..
I know. I'm SOOOO ****ing sick of the drama of PCs. Every week it's something; today I can't use any of my media players to play movies - they all crash when I start them. Last week (and for the last 8 months) it was MS's Data Execution Prevention - a nasty little bit of protectionist programming by the hacks at MS, which continually shuts down programs that use "too much memory"... Talk about irony. And guess which app it shut down every few minutes? Firefox. But not Internet Explorer. No. A year ago it was that Windows wouldn't let me install iTunes; I had to go get an app - a Microsoft app - that wiped the remnants of previous installations so the new installs could proceed. Number one: ****ING INCLUDE IT IN WINDOWS, if that's what it takes to make it work right. Second: note what app it kept ****ing with. Yeah. Mac for me next time and hopefully forever beyond that.
Just gotta face the real truth. I hate using any form of post-production on Macs. Whether that's Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Sony Vegas... whatever... Some people are obsessed with Macs here, I just don't really like them. Where I work, people bring in Macs because something is wrong or they have some compatibility issue. The only reason why you hear "no one ever brings in a problem with a Mac" is because hardly anyone owns one.
thats not true....but ok.... how can no one have them? go into a apple store in the mall....most packed place in the mall.... the prices have dropped significantly.....a 50g mac a few yrs ago was 2000 dollars....now i getta 250g laptop for 999......prices go down cause more peeps are buying....
That being said if I can save up enough over summer I plan on buying a Sony Viao or Macbook. I think I'll end up with the Sony because I have never had a problem with anything from Sony... also a lot of the lectures and things we have to do for class at UCF cause Mac users problems.
and no one is buying stuff... it is a buyers market right now. Companies are trying to sell stuff at just enough cost to cover their fixed costs so they can remain in business.
