Ricky Williams a 77? Jason Taylor a 79 GTFO, when Taylor is healthy he's a top 10 DE.

I also like how Chad Pennington was an 88 with the last Madden 09 roster update and they knock him down a few notches.

Ted Ginn shows imnprovement and he's downgraded.

**** you EA watch some ****ing games for once.

Ricky deserves that 77 rating IMO

It's hard to say whether JT still has any gas in the tank, his injuries have mounted over the years and it's possible he's lost a step or two. Even towards the end here I think he was having some nagging injuries. I'd have gotten his ratings to around an 83.

Ricky definitely deserves a 77 of old, and maybe JT does too.

With that said, they completely changed how ratings work this year, so I won't react on the numbers alone here.

IMO Ricky could have at least gotten an 80, as for JT an 85 seems fair.

Keep in mind... the madden ratings system has changed this year... aside from the superstars... ratings are supposedly down across the board this year...

    Listen to them...

The ratings system was revamped because there were to many guys with big ratings and the game washed out. Plus players who were 99 overall were not that different from the lower tier guys. They wanted to create real separation.

Speed is the big change this year. Speed has been scaled back on everyone, and a new system was implemented. If you weren't a 95+, you were basically irrelevant (especially at RB). However Ian Cummings talked about (as an example) RB being a sub 80 speed and taking it to the house for big runs. Someone like Brandon Jacobs will be deadly this season as oppose to last year.

    :lol::up:

    So true.

Even if you say that one game not bought wont make a difference to EA, who cares?

Last 3 years I have bought one game - NCAA 08 - and played that for my football fix because Madden has blown since it left the old gen.

I might bite this year, IF after a week or 2 I find that the features are finally close to what we had before (back in 2004).

If they are not, I will just get NCAA 10 and retire my NCAA 08 copy.

Don't get mad about the actual ratings until you see what others with similar skills are rated.

Player ratings should be the least of our concerns with Madden due to the editing system. As long as the improved game play and presentation runs smooth, then I'm good.

FYI, overall ratings have been dropped as a whole. Individual sections of the ratings now serves more purpose. It's better that way.

EDIT: The only thing I disagree with in the overall ratings would be Will Allen at 75 and Phillip Merling at 69. I'll change both of those right away... 80-85 for Will Allen and 75 for Merling.

i guess i'll wait to see other running back's ratings. ricky had a very solid year, and creedence should be paid to a split back system.

Eh, define solid... The guy was terrible on short yardage plays and pretty average overall. He had no pop and couldn't run over anyone to save his life. I thought his decline was very obvious and won't dispute the rating.

but he did play fast and was solid catching the ball. i thought he showed some explosiveness, and the one or two times he got to te second level, he didnt get caught from behind. considering the loong hiatus, i was pleased.

btw, i heard small ville is in its last season next year.

77 Probably isn't that bad... I think the Jets RB is a 76 or 78 (the fast one... His name is escaping me, Leon Washington? I think it starts with a W). Hopefully Ronnie is more of a truck this year than last year. He fought for tough yards all season and deserves to be powerful.

Smallville should of ended years ago. The show is terrible . The show can't progress because it's not "Superman" and retreads lame kiddiot storylines. Good riddance.

I don't have a problem with RW's rating but I thought JT's and Will Allen's ratings were a bit low. I don't see how it makes sense to have Allen rated below Vontae Davis. I was also bothered by the incorrect positions for Starks and JT. I also thought Ginn and Bess should be a bit higher. Additionally, where's Wake?

To stress how unimportant overall ratings are this year, in fact, Ian used Pat White as an example. I think he's a 66 overall or something like that, and Ian called him "one of the most dangerous players" in the game.
