Opinion:

Very early on Draft day..., either Ryan # 1 or a trade down a few spots and Ryan or a QB in the second round..., depending how the Qbs fall as they usually do... rds 1-3...

The resaon I say this is because Parcells went on record saying he prefers a player who will be around ten years with less risk of injury...

we absolutely need a QB competition throughout the preseason...

Your setting yourself up for a dissapointment if your expecting a QB early.

I hope so, we need a franchise QB and if Parcells thinks he's the guy, then pull the trigger. I just hope we don't draft a defensive lineman who'll most likely not fit into our defense or a tweener with speed that will be a bust.

You're way is setting our franchise back by not addressing the most important position and instead drafting a low impact position

I taped alot of BC games this year since we get them up here in philly, and we have to be nuts not to draft Matt Ryan, this franchise is going no where without a QB, Ryan is the best QB to come out of the draft in a long time maybe since brady, he has everything you want, it is not even close,

We addressed that need with the second pick last year. You have to take the best player coming out in the draft period. You don’t often get the opportunity to get the very best, and keep other teams from getting the very best. You have to hope we draft very well with our other picks, but number one should be as sure a thing as you can get.

I'm not even saying this is what "I want"..., I'm reading into what Bill has spoken..., if he is looking to invest that kind of money he wants a guy on the field....

I'm fine with Ryan..., I want to see QBs push each other...

I don't think we addressed that need at all by attempting to red shirt a guy..., he was complacent from the get go... from the few quotes I read it appeared he was hesitant to want to get into the action.., he should have been clawing over Lemon...

That tells me a lot about the guy... Team player OK but this supposed to be your team in like what one year...?

Low impact position such as what? DT? DE/OLB? Quite frankly, we already have a young QB that we already drafted. And I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of running backs constantly penetrating our defensive line like it was made out of air.

Again like I just said he (Beck) needs to know that this is a competition..., I'm sure he gets that now that Bill came to town that "red-shirt" pre-season and other gaffs are on display...

We'll have a QB competition by day one Draft day if we haven't signed a free agent...

and what happens if Beck beats him out in TC? Can you say waste of a pick and complete disaster. Do you know what the Fins would have to pay a #1 pick? Until Beck has proven to be a bust which you cant say right now then there is no way they will take a QB with the first pick.

Miami is in a unique situation since we haven't had a legitimate starting QB in what seems like forever. We all hope that Beck is the answer, but. If Beck fails, (and I'm not insinuating he will), we will be back on the quarterback carousel trying to sign other team's backups. That hasn't seemed to work for us up to this point. I doubt they take a QB early, but who knows what Parcells will do. Whatever they do I hope the quarterback position is not taken for granit like it has been for so long.

Theres one thing to bring in a QB for a competition then theres another bringing in a $40 million dollar player (1st Pick). They better be damn sure Beck isnt the one before they make a commitment like that. Parcells isnt dumb enough to make that mistake.

Me too. i dont think Parcells is going to want to hinge verything on Beck. QB first then defense until round 4

Your basing this off 3 games on the worst team in football. Fins had no business developing a rookie QB this year especially with the lack of talent, play calling and protection they have.

Dude these decisions are made from a "body of work" like practices..., ability to learn play-books etc... (not just games)

I dont have a problem getting one later in the draft, which I assume they will at some point. I dont want to see the 1st pick going to an unproven QB. The fins already have that. Why take another chance on a rookie QB when we cant say either way about what we have.

Don't be surprised if we're nuts then. Ryan certainly isn't a clear cut choice for the #1 pick and not nearly as polished/accomplished/talented as some of the guys that have came out since Brady (who wasn't highly regarded at the time, so I'm not sure I understand the comparison). Brady Quinn and Aaron Rodgers were better prospects than Ryan IMO, and look where they were drafted.

Ryan has upside (great size, good enough arm, good pressure awareness, quick release, leadership), but he also has some negatives (inconsistent accuracy, throws off his back foot too much, throws too many across his body, sailing passes that will get picked off in the NFL, too many interceptions, didn't produce much until his senior season, had a low YPA, mainly threw to backs and TEs due to lack of talent at WR).

From what I've seen, he reminds me of AJ Feeley and Joey Harrington. Shows glimpses of being a quality franchise QB, then has several inaccurate throws and turnovers that really hurt the team. I'd rather go with a Chris Long or Vernon Gholston in the 1st and take a chance on a lower tier QB in the 2-4th rounds then to put all of our eggs in the Matt Ryan basket.

Have you been at practice? I would bet a lot of money Beck practices better than Lemon. It was well documented in TC that Beck had the best arm and was the better passer, I highly doubt that has changed thru the season. Lemon is starting because he can scramble better. Why start Beck when there is no protection.

I am definitely not giving up on Beck, I was impressed by him in his first two starts, and horrified by him in the next two. He is a rookie, inconsitancy is to expected.

Like other people have said, with the #1 overall pick you need to draft a sure thing player, and there are no quarterbacks in this draft that are sure things. I have no problem taking one in the second or third rounds, there are some guys with a lot of potential available like Colt Brennan and Chad Henne, but I don't want one in the first.

Can anybody here say they have 100% confidence that Matt Ryan can adapt to the NFL? I'm not asking do you definitely believe he will be an all pro, I am asking do you think he will make this team good enough to compete? I'm not getting that from any of the scouts opinions that I have read and I'm not arrogant enough to say I'm in a position to argue with them, so I say we go defense. The quickest way to make this team competitive again is to start stopping the run.

Would you bet a lot of money..., then why not let the kid play...? They (CamRam) wanted to keep their jobs they didn't want anyone to see Beck..., Beck isn't good enough to start or even "squeeze) Lemon... They had Wayne convinced on passing on Brady for Ginn..., that is for sure until Wayne went out and brought Bill in..., why my friend was Bill brought in...? Everybody questions CamRam... Even the people who cannot make it out to practice...

You specualte... I speculate...

You don't use a first-round pick just to give competition to a rookie QB.

I swear, if some people here had their way, we'd have 15 RBs and 7 QBs on the roster.
