I don't know that Ricky has put this on record or not yet, but...

...he just in a de facto way confirmed to me on Twitter that he's planning on playing football beyond 2010.

Maybe I'm just way behind on the times. I've been busy with several things.

I know he'd been sort of hinting at this but this is almost flat out confirmation.

@dolphinsrb34: For the record, IF a travel show comes to fruition 4 me, I would film it during our personal time in the off season not interfere w/workouts

@ckparrot: Forgive me if i'm wrong @dolphinsrb34 but ya sound like youre pretty set on playing beyond 2010, explaining that travel show won't interfere

@dolphinsrb34: @ckparrot :-) Perceptive. I look forward to playing as long as I can be productive and help my team. Simply put.

Just thought I'd throw that out there. My apologies if it's something that he's already confirmed publicly at some point.

I love twitter. You just had a 2 minute chat with Ricky Williams. How awesome is that.

Ricky began to say this with Mad Dog last year.

He has said he realizes how much he loves football , and that he was considering playing beyond this year. He also really loves HIS team .

That he is a major part of the offense but not going to get decimated by being overused is a key component as well.

I thought he signed a 2 year extension? Does that run out this year or next?

Nice little scoop there.

I follow both you and Ricky on Twitter. I was greatly entertained by the exchange

Can I use you as one of my "sources" when I go on the air with this?

Very cool.

Hiring Drew Rosenhaus might also have been a precursor, though the last couple of deals have been Bill Parcells walking onto the practice field, handing him a piece of paper with a number on it and Ricky signing that afternoon.

Wow CK, nice job! Thanks for the intel, it is huge to me, I want Ricky on the field for us beyond this season. IMHO he still has a lot in the tank and is still one of the premiere running backs in this league.

Drew confirmed it a while back that he did not sign up with Ricky just for some endorsements. He said if he stays healthy, he sees him playing longer than this season.

I saw him on TV hint very strongly at it, but this was definitely closer to a confirmation. I hope he stays, whether Ronnie does or not. There's not a better #2 back in the league, and not too many better backs, period.

Nice. That ESPN special kind of gave the impression that Ricky was interested in playing longer.

If Ronnie does leave next year I think Ricky wouldnt mind helping out another young Running Back.

I definitely think he'll be playing in 2011 let's just hope the Dolphins will want him, you never know with them.

If it's on Twitter, it's on the record.

The big question is whether or not Ricky will be playing for the Dolphins or for another team.

That's good stuff.

Ive said several times he would be playing in 2011 because that's when you can realistically expect this team to be peaking, and at pretty much full strength talent wise..How could he have such a rebirth then justify leaving 1 year to early..

This is not the year for expectations imo...Next year is the year..Ricky's gotta know that, and be a part of a legit run. This is also one of the many reason's why I feel we will sign Ronnie brown if he stay's healthy.....you don't go this far and quit. Fu$# that....they both need to be reupped.

Yeah, it seems to me that football is back to being fun for Ricky and he'll want to stay in the game. Hopefully he and that Punk Drew will realize that he's a complementary back not the main horse in the stall. Whether or not Ronnie is still here next season, Ricky can't do it on his own or as the main weapon. But to have him as the #2 behind either Brown or some rookie stud would be fantastic...
