for the fins to be playing some meaningful football 8 weeks into the season. It seems like it's been forever since we have had a winning record in November. Anyways Im enjoying the ride!
Actually the Dolphins were in the playoff race in December 2009. They were 7-7 and all they needed to do to make the playoffs was to win their finale two games that season. They lost by a TD to both the Texans and the Steelers in their final two games and they ended up out of the playoffs. The Jets, whom the Dolphins had defeated twice during the season, made the playoffs with a 9-7 record and ended up playing in the AFC championship game. It just seems like forever, but it really wasn't that long ago at all.
I was never a Henne fan and I am glad to see him gone. I was just pointing out that it was not that long ago that the Dolphins were a legitimate playoff contender. I think the fact that the Dolphins played so poorly for much of the 2010 and 2011 seasons makes it appear that the Dolphins have been out of the playoff chase for a lot longer than is the reality.
