This guy has terrible hands. He got his hands on 4 balls today and should have picked off 2 of them! Granted he played a great game but I can't believe he started out as a reciever in college.
It's almost unreal that Carroll is the only one who can catch. Still pissed about the trip on Carroll
his "confidence" is down when it comes to catching the ball... but other than that, he played a helluva game IMO.... all over the field.
My goodness that was dirty.... of course the Jets won't be fined... and if that happened on the other sideline, not only would we have been flagged 15 yards, but fined like $100k...
The weather had a pretty big reason why no one was catching passes. Carroll caught the ball with his body and it's the only reason why he hung onto it. Smith and Fields are the players of the game, IMO. Defense played outstanding and proved to be tougher when the weather made this game all about toughness and will.
No one, and I mean no one has bagged on his play in this game. Several including me in the original post said he had a great game. The only thing that is being ragged on is his stone hands.
We're down on his hands or lack of them. He played good, only got beat once but made up for it with a deflection. Sent from my Samsung Moment via Tapatalk
Well, now you know why Smith is a CB, and not a WR still Hell of a game from Smith today though, he coulda had probably 4 picks today. Weather today though makes that quite a difficult feat.
I'm cool with that. He should've made X or X play, but that deflection makes up for everything. They targeted him, and, he made them pay all day.
That's the good thing to take from this, he was always around the ball. In position to make several plays, thats what you want. Now he just needs to work on making them.
Hands or no hands, Smith deserved a game ball !!! He was picked on constantly and came up big every time. Even that long catch by Holmes. That was a clear pass interference
Sean Smith played his *** off today. He is getting physical out there. That is what all of his naysayers wanted right. He is developing in front of our eyes. Sure he had some chances to make the big play but he is around the football....... Keeper!
That's what I'm saying. He was TARGETED today. It was obvious, and, he made the Jets pay all day long.
Sean Smith dropped balls are the reason were not a good team, Good teams make those plays... Thats why we are 7-6. This is what seperate us from the Patriots, I guarantee the Patriot players would of caught 50% of those chances.
Like it or not, Sean Smith was a HUGE reason the Miami Dolphins won today. I'll take him on my team anyday...
Not only was he picked on in the passing game but they kept trying to run at him today and ran a few pick plays his way as well. He passed with flying colors today in all areas except catching the ball, which is most likely why he plays Cb
If our D could come up with half those easy INT's it would be tops in the NFL. I can count several that would have been pick 6's. And the way our O scores they would have been huge pick 6's. Smith played a tremendous game he was tackling good, great coverage, laying out, tipping balls, reading the qb. Minus the picks great game from him. The picks will come for him.
The best thing about Smith is how he really uses his height and range to make plays. It really does make a difference!! He will only get better.
While I agree Sean Smith should have had as many INT as JA had during the Viking game. If there is one thing I want him to work on is catching the ball.
Frankly, I am getting to be pretty happy with all of our young secondary guys. Carroll has played well the last 2 games, Clemons has been better than many had thought, Davis has been terrific all year and Smith showed up big time today. Even Jones made some plays out there today. I think they are far better than they get credit for and they have a lot of upside. We just need to get some work on their collective hands. Either that or some good ole stickum'.
