I have to agree with Zod, Mueller took the bullet for both the Cap Space, and taking players who were not going to contribute instantly but were needed for long term success in Miami, guys like Ted Ginn who provide offensive explosiveness are hard to find, and they must be developed, unlike a MLB who can play, or cannot, and you know immediately, a guy like Ginn can make the P-Bowl in year three and dominate in the League.

We haven't had a Wr who could do that since the Marks Brothers all respects to OJ McDuffie, but we simply haven't.

A Qb in round two was also not likely to contribute very quickly either.

And add in the cap space he cleared, and Mueller has a "C" in my opinion, his St blunder (though Armstrong shares some of the blame IMO) and his Porter signing to me are his only black marks.

Now if we really want to boil the Mueller term down, granted none of the late round picks panned out, but we didn't really miss out on anyone either, there were no Colston's coming out of the late rounds last year, and Doug Free didn't contribute anything either, so in context, his late round guys, Smith Wright., Jones, Soliai, are not really contributors, but then again, not many other later round picks last year were either.

And at least Soliai was considered a solid prospect when he was drafted, he does have time to develop if he isn't the "big soft baby" that some think he is....
