I used to think it was just a little acne, but the more I look at the more it just looks like redness and dryness. My problem is I have very sensitive skin, so shaving, creams, etc. all make my face a little red. I recently bought some lotion for the dry skin on my hands and it says I can also use it on my face, but then it all comes back to wondering if that will actually help or just make it redder.

I think my question makes sense. So if anyone has any tips for eliminating the redness please let me know. It isn't really bad, just enough to annoy me.

I hate shaving but the downside is I can't grow a beard or a decent looking moustache so I am forced to shave otherwise it looks stupid.

I have no idea what to tell you; try just using soap?

Could be mild Rosacea. You probably want to see a Dermatologist to be properly diagnosed, in which he can then prescribe a few medications to help out. I know they have just recently released a new drug as well for this. I have very fair and pale skin myself and often get red in the cheeks. In regards to lotion, try Cetaphil. If you tend to find the redness getting worse when you get overheated, try sucking on some ice cubes. It works for me.

Yup, I would have to agree with Inflames... I know someone with Rosacea, and it sounds an awful lot like what you are describing. Of course, the only way to know for sure is to visit a doctor and be properly diagnosed, there are some creams that you can apply to it to help minimize its effects, and lately I've been seeing commercials on tv for a new drug that the FDA recently approved, call Oracea.

Here's a few sites with information regarding Rosacea that may give you some additional and valuable information on what could be your problem:

    http://www.rosacea.org/index.php

    http://www.rosaceaguide.ca/

    http://www.rosaceatreatment.org/

And finally some information on Oracea, the recently approved drug to treat Rosacea:

    http://www.webmd.com/news/20060531/fda-oks-new-drug-for-rosacea

    http://www.oracea.com/

Hopefully some of the information here, and in these websites above helps. Of course if the condition you are describing doesnt match some of the example photos of people with Rosacea as seen on these sites, you could as you said simply just have very sensitive skin. Sometimes for me when shaving, my neck/throat especially, i tend to have some irritation issues. Mostly caused by the razor blade itself. If you are using a traditional razor blade, maybe try switching over to an electric razor. Maybe that could help reduce some of the effects of razor burn for you.

    good luck!

Yes, that is also part of it. Whenever I exercise and start sweating, i get redder and my face becomes irritating.
