There was a time when you couldn't post ANY type of criticism of Ryan w/o it starting a fight. Not just with one poster either, but a handful.

2 things happened last year.

1.) When Ryan came out of the gates poorly many of his most loyal of backers started to agree he needed to move on.
2.) He finally started to play at a high level in the middle of the season and there wasn't a reason to really criticize him.

So last year wasn't nearly as bad...but yes during that stretch wherein you didn't blame the OL, WRS, OC, HC, DEF, Trump, Global Warming before having anything other than an apologetic take on 17? You got an earful.

Moral? As long as Ryan plays at a high level we won't disagree nearly as often with each other.

Making popcorn.

I'm not for people leaving. And Landry can handle himself -just like he did when people asked him to provide context for his link; which has been the expectation here since the site started. He had no issue being snarky by telling them they can view it when they get home, or to buy an iPhone. I didn't say anything and I haven't condemned him here either even though I think it was uncalled for as people do work and have limitations on what they can view and it has been an expectation here since day one.

I didn't jump in then either. But I don't like people leaving, especially those who have been here for a long time. I've left it alone, until people start saying that it should be someone's last post. There are two sides to every coin; if that's how one feels, then they themselves also can have a final post and be done if we want to get right down to it. But again, I think that's a bad way to go.

I've let them say whatever to each other, I have no dog in that fight. But being outside of it, I can see there are a few wrongs in here. Point blank, and I'm not taking sides with it.

The only time I've said anything is when people start making statements that someone should leave, it is not their decision. Other than that, they can argue all they want. There are some posters here I consider to be jackasses, I won't tell them to leave though as it isn't my place to do so. I don't own the place.

Plus I haven't seen him get cussed out in this thread, unless I've missed something. If you're referring to another thread I may not have seen it or again I've missed it. If this is a long standing issue I may not be as up to speed with it overall.

Plus it is laundry day and yes I was washing my tights. :wink2:

I have tried to stay out of the arguments for a couple of years now- I literally had 15 people on ignore up until a few months ago. But it got to the point where reading the forums was finishing a jigsaw puzzle...the conversations made no sense because people were replying to crazy things. And what did I see? Two page threads became 29 pages...all with people arguing over nothing that had to do with football or the Dolphins. Personal insults flying everywhere, rules ignored, etc. Every single post I clicked on was hijacked, which made sense why nobody was responding when I posted to the OP on-topic.

Still, I tried to stay out of it until i saw people getting cussed out, being told they're stupid, idiots, morons, losers, etc. Nobody comes to forums to be belittled over something we are all supposed to love. So I started reporting both people I like here and the folks I don't care for....and the mods did a good job of getting the hate speech and rule violations to stop- ALMOST.

I stood up for Landry because even if he did break an unwritten rule of not sharing a link, a few others were violating written rules about attacking people, being hateful, etc. Your pot and kettle analogy fits perfectly.....let me break six rules to tell you you're breaking one rule. I was just tired of seeing people quit here over and over again because they're getting bashed over nothing. And despite what others have said, you can look at the site's numbers and see for yourself that active users have steadily declined over the years.

No one but no one attacked him for not sharing a link. He was attacked because he lashed out at people because they asked for a link or because they provided an excerpt. That's your champion.

Many of us, including yourself in this thread (post #7), lash out because of frustration, but what Landry did was straight up malicious. That's why he got attacked. To say that's wrong, all while absolving him and doing your own attacking, is the problem.

im not gonna even acknowledge the ridiculousness anymore..they get off on seeing their opinions in print become a topic..

It's amazing, because most of the posters on this thread would rather stay off subject because they can't formulate opinions on their own about the subject itself. they need to rely on sources to help their ideas.

You make posts based off of information from an article and that makes you a free thinker but requesting a link to the article you read so they can also read it and form their own opinion like you did makes a person a sheep and open for ridicule from you? Posting an excerpt from that article for people who may be blocked at work is also an offense worthy of your scorn?

Oh here we go. The you're the new guy attack. Somehow because you were on this site back when you had to use a typewriter somehow invalidates my statement. I wasn't speaking for you, I don't even know you. Actually until that post, I'd never even seen you.
