Just a thread where everyone can talk about their team's season.

As a lot of you may know, I'm an FAU Owls fan. And this year, we're the youngest football program ever to enter a bowl game. We're going to face Memphis in the New Orleans Bowl.

    How about you guys?

Penn State did ok, not as well as I had hoped, but oh well.

Akron on the other hand. :'(

I did get to rush the field once at least, and was one of less than 20 students at our last home game, lol.

Horrible. We could've had such a good season if Dorrell didn't pull off a Cam Cameron impression. Nice guy but bad game and player management. Of course, all 3 QB's had an injury at one point or another but the run game was nonexistent. And Dorrell was way too conservative, inconsistent, and pulled a lot of questionable calls. But he did right the ship since we had some character issues but just can't get us to a good bowl game. Hopefully the next coach (Bowden, Chow?) will be better.

Now that Alabama and I are on the outs due to that firing Shula/hiring Saban debacle, I guess my team is WVU. They ruined their shot at the title by letting a Wannstedt team beat them. Yes, it has been a suck year for any football team I care about.

Clemson was 9-3 in the regular season. In the Chik Fila bowl against Auburn. Could have been bigger things... but i'm happy with what we finished. Should be the favorite in the ACC Atlantic next year.

Well the Capital One bowl game is not ideal, But is great for such a young team like the Gators. They have played pretty good most of the year and will be much better next year.

Well, my WVU Mountaineers took me for a ride this year. Started the season quite arrogantly ... was served a HUGE slice of humble pie by USF ... recovered late in the year to become arrogant again ... just before we were actually outcoached by Wanny, thus costing us a shot at the title. Now we have to beat Oklahoma in order to set up a run at it again next year.

    It's been exhausting.

Capital One Bowl is okay. Realistically my expectations this season were to play for the SEC Championship game. That didn't happen, IMO a very undeserving Tennessee team weaseled their way in there instead despite the fact that their two conference losses were complete blowouts. Anyway..... Season was not a total loss, young team got plenty of experience and will very likely start next season Top 3. Of course can't forget to mention the first underclassmen to ever win the Heisman! Tim Tebow had a historic season, breaking countless records. Luckily we have him for another two years. Really looking forward to next season when we open with Hawaii, Miami, and Tennessee as our first 3 games.

Realistic expectations for next season are nothing less than the BCS Championship.

Lots of hating going to be going on for my Lobos...they are playing in their own bowl...for the third consecutive year I think...their record 0-2......
They had chances to upset both Utah and BYU, but let them both slip away...of course they did come here, to Tucson and smack U of A right in the teeth..so I will take that as a winning season..LOL

I don't really want to talk about my beloved Louisville Cardinals. We finished .500 and it took a final game win over Rutgers to get there. We lost to Syracuse. Do I need to say more...

Arizona State had a great year. Rushed the field a few times. finished 10-2 (co-pac10 champs with usc). We were in the top ten basically all year, and then got screwed with the Holiday Bowl. Although I will say that the matchup of ASU vs Texas is one of the better bowl game matchups this holiday season. Many have this same opinion.

ASU recently has recruited Jake Elway, (Johns son), and he has signed a letter of intent to play here. Not sure how good he is. 32nd qb in the nation i think he is. Either way he will bring a lot of hype with him, and that is exactly what ASU needs. Supposedly word is that a lot of recruits are coming ASU's way this year. Reason for this, a lot of people's think process is that if John Elway feels comfortable sending his son to play college ball at ASU then they must be something, or soon will be. Not to mention the fact that players have said they want to play along with him.

Either way, ASU is back on the map, and for a few years i believe. Erickson is just getting started out here in the desert. Let him recruit his own players this year that fit his system better, and the future is bright in az.

BTW gotta love the BCS. November 3rd, #4 ASU loses to #5 Oregon, @ Oregon (one of the toughest places to play on the road), then November 22 #8 ASU loses to # 11 USC, whom many consider the best, and hottest team in the country down the stretch.

Also, oregon fell off the map after Dixon's injury, but we played them at Oregon when he was healthy. too healthy actually. After ASU's loss to Oregon we dropped from #4 to #9 in the country. After #1 Ohio State lost to UNRANKED Illinois AT HOME, they only fell six spots to #7. How does that work? Alright, thats my little rant.

ASU is a college program on the rise I will say that much though. Keep your eye on them.

We rushed the field once at Akron, during our first nationally televised game this year. We ended with like 4 wins though, and it wasn't even a big win that we rushed on. It's kind of bittersweet, but it was an absolute blast.

ASU does look like a team on the rise though I'd just like to say that if we weren't starting a WR at QB and our 4th and 5th string RB's, we might've been able to take you guys down. :wink2::

    USF.
    Wen went up..we went down.
Its okay though...Grothe still has at least one more year.
    Freshman runningback looks great.
And they have a secret weapon next season in the kicking game

Well..i dont know about secret weapon..but their startig corner next year, this years redhsirted freshman, Tyson Butler, runs a 4.3 flat.
    Thats not Holliday speed..but still.
    I wont like.
I like him cuz i played with him, and got my ankles broken by him on scout team every single time.
he played RB in high school..in same county as 'Fro (known to most, as Noel Devine)
And Tyson DID beat Devine's lee county single game rushing recrod with 483 yards. In three quarters. Coaches benched Tyson in the begining of fourth...))
    But yeah...Go Bulls!

If not for a few key injuries at QB (Dixon, Longshore, Olson), you could see a few more Pac-10 teams join the top 25.

My Buckeyes did better than I had hoped for. After losing their entire offense in the draft, I was expecting an off year to get things going again. But surprise surprise! Everyone else in the country sucks so bad that OSU ends up #1 twice! It took some very bad play from some very good schools to get OSU where they are, so I'm thrilled that my Buckeyes are getting another chance at a title. Many teams never get a show, mine is getting 2 in a row, and 3 in 6 years. The best part for me is knowing that this is going to be OSU's weakest year of the decade. OSU's recruiting over the past season has put them in a situation where they might accidentally win the championship the next few years. Chris Wells is nothing compared to the guy thats gonna replace him. Get ready to drop jaws like a motherf-er. Go Buckeyes!

actually this thread is a little early, hard to assess some teams' level of success until after the Bowls. OSU could lose the NC game and still feel they did better than they should have this year. But some teams need to win a big bowl game to match the expectations everyone had put on them at the beginning of the season. LSU will consider this season a failure if they lose the NC game. UF blew their season in Georiga, they were shooting for dominance across the board and got put in their place.

After the bowls, it will be very different for many teams.

    LOL, "Shooting for Dominance?"

Florida missed out on a chance at the SEC title but no one was expecting them to repeat with all the youth and turnover in starters with another Top 10 schedule.

I have 3 teams i root for in College.

1.Rutgers. Gotta root for my "graduating" alma matta, especilly now that we have a legit program, tho we had a dissapointing year overall. In the past, they've been so bad though, and non-competitive, that I also rooted for a regular powerhouse...

2.Georgia. Love the Bulldogs. Love Bulldogs. I've had a Bulldog since I was 14 yrs old, and as a kid was partial to the school and their mascot. still root for them to this day. Had a pretty sweet year with lots to look forward to next year.

    3. Maryland. I drank at this fine institution for 4 semesters, and was close with much of the football team. know quite a few guys in the pros today too, from my time there(Eric Barton, Lamont Jordan, Lou Sanders, Eric Hicks, and some lesser known guys too) Kevin Plank may be the best known Terp I used to party with...the founder of UnderArmour. So, I still root for these guys too, but we aren't making the progress that we originally hoped for under the Friedge .

Quite frankly, I think FAU should get the nod over UM and I believe UF is still the top team, followed by USF.
